I try to use em dashes when I can, but I think they're used wrong in the comment above (IIRC they're not supposed to be surrounded by spaces, but I could be wrong). What tips me off is the unambiguously "LLM" narrative voice and structure ("let's break it down", followed by an ordered list). Not that a human can't type that, but sometimes it seems like ChatGPT is incapable of spitting out words in any other structure.

Technically it was never released, but I was invited to a closed alpha (or beta?) for a game called Chroma, by Harmonix, the OG Guitar Hero people. It was a lot of fun and I'm still sad that it was canceled...

You're right, the tracks are pretty short. But since the game is from my childhood it just has that special something in my heart, you know? And I also agree that the controls could have been better. If you make it to the part where he jumps into the robot dinosaur (my PFP, I forgot to add), there's a nice variety of weapon pickups to keep the combat at least a tiny bit interesting.

I must admit, nostalgia has an outsized influence on my enjoyment of the things I grew up with, but I'm glad other people are giving it a chance! Like the other person said, the music is a little repetitive, but a lot of games were like that back then. Not everyone can be Koji Kondo!

There's a game for the NES called Dynowarz and the main character's name is Professor Proteus. The game is... not great. I loved it as a kid even though I was terrible at it. The music rules though, and I'll die on that hill.

I've never seen a single other person talk about this game since I played it back in the early 90s so I wanted to give it some love 😊

I've always been very curious about this technology, but I imagine that they wouldn't be as good at transmitting high frequencies. I'm no audio engineer so it's only a hunch of course. Do they sound comparable to a decent pair of buds in the ear?

It would be nice if journalists would describe the amount in a quantity related to the food itself, i.e. "xyz tons of food destined to help people stricken by poverty."

By labeling it with the dollar amount it only helps the message of the scum who claim to be saving the taxpayer money while stomping on the most vulnerable.
