  • I'm a novice in terms of bookworm territory, but I've found my favorite book currently.

Flowers for Algernon. It's a story about an intellectually disabled (68 IQ) man named Charlie who wants to get smart. Due to his immense motivation to learn, a research group offers him an experimental brain surgery operation which should increase your IQ. This book explores on how a person's life changes depending on his intelligence. 10/10 book for me, it has absolutely amazing character building.

  • Partly true. If I'm right there is already an UBo for V3 and it's capable to block ads, although not as efficiently. If nothing major change happened with V3 that may affect this earlier V3 UBo the adblocking will still work (but poorer).

  • Damn yeast as a viable alternative? Now that was an unexpected one, thank you for the info!

  • I mean this is the best way for them to implement Manifest V3 with the least resistance as possible. People will be noticeably desensitized / care less when they will finally begin the transition for real. Obligatory fuck you Google ofc.

  • Yeah these are good options, though I'm an europoor I believe you, but personally I'm more likely interested in a milk alternative.

  • Yeah I was talking about milks too. Probably it's relatively easy to supplement milk with other sources but are those choice economically viable? Protein powders are a bit expensive + as an average joe, payin 3x+ more for plant based milk products are bit too much for me currently, but a 2x could convince me to opt for a plant based one. I'm not really knowledgable in this area, there must be some other options too for replacing milk in a cost effective way.

  • If the original comment was truly a sarcasm then I give a huge applause for Varyk. It's certainly 200 IQ level.

  • If we think about this way, yes it is indeed pretty weird but it has really great nutrients which are crucial for children to grow in a healthy way (in moderation just like with any other food, fruit, vegetable).

  • For example as I recall some people are complaining about Pocket because it's not privacy friendly in some way. Idk about specifics of this, my only complaint about Firefox is that the CEO absorbs huge amounts of money to herself despite the shrinling userbase of Firefox YoY.

  • Your assumption is totally understandable but our debate would need way longer paragraphs since this massacre has numerous amounts of conflicts starting from the 40s.

Yes that's correct, I was indeed under the assumption that Palestine exists as a country. Thank you for pointing this out.

  • Hmm interesting, it seems blockchain is everywhere. Thanks for the info!

  • Please educate me then. Narrowed down to this conflict only Israel killed HUGE amounts of civilians but Hamas militants initiated this entire conflict by creating massacres all over Israel.

Of course, I'm not stating that Israel or Palestine is doing the right thing, it's just sad (and tiring) to see another war where BOTH sides don't take civilian lives into consideration at all. What's your disagreement for me being indifferent? I would be a pretty happy person if someone could put a stop on this entire conflict, but this probably won't ever happen.

  • Ahh yes, that's a good take, I forgot that the Gaza Strip area is extremely young compared to the average, but please educate me then. I wasn't suggesting that the Palestinians deserve this for supporting or voting for Hamas, they have their justified reason.

As I recall Hamas has initiated massacres (and before, also installing military buildings in civil areas and probably some more). Just to not sound biased of course Israel had made its fair share of war crimes like bombing civilian areas where military buildings weren't even present and bunch more probably.

Of course, it's absolutely brutal observing this even more so that the Israeli minister didn't give 2 shits to the Pope's request (ironic), but what can we do? Can we really put a stop to this without escalating things further and risking creating a bigger conflict than it currently is?

  • Algorithm probably plays a sizeable part in that, but as an older gen Z fella I have become indifferent to both countries of this conflict. Both Israel and Palestine just race with each other who can check the most boxes in the Geneva Convention rules list. Just leave those 2 to sort this mess out for themselves, It's not like we get a Holy Site bonus effect by owning Jerusalem.

Or just put a stop on this, but this is a naive thinking.

  • Yeah that's exactly what I meant with the scarecrow politics, and absolutely agreed.

  • There some reasons:

    • Deviation from the norm is always seen as dangerous for a lot of people. The average man usually is able and will adapt to change but some of them don't.
    • Scarecrow tactics in politics. "Gay and trans people kill the christian family values", " Gay people mindwash our children" (reference: my country, aka Hungary)
    • Others (For example a friend of a friend was at a party, met with a girl and she later on spilled the beans just before the sex act. She was trans and that guy gut furious. Idk him probably he was already a transphobe before)

EDIT: Sry didn't read the title

  • I-I'm gonna gatekeeeeep!!
