  • I was thinking it would be akin to something like this:

U.S. says Russia funded media company that paid right-wing influencers millions for videos

Two Russian nationals working for a news network controlled by Vladimir Putin's government funneled millions of dollars to an American media company that paid right-wing influencers for videos pushing narratives favorable to the Kremlin, U.S. prosecutors alleged on Wednesday.

The indictment alleges that Tenet never disclosed to its audience that it was "funded and directed" by RT, and neither the company nor its founders registered with the Justice Department as an agent of a foreign principal.

  • I have no idea what something like his show takes to run, but if it doesn’t require 30 people and really does only require even say 10-15 people, he’s doing the exact same thing that people like him and Elon do - “I could do it better and with fewer people on the payroll! What a waste!”

So part of me hopes he really is just getting ripped off.

  • Much of this traces back to John Dougan, an ex-Floridian cop who now works with the Kremlin to spread disinformation. Dougan helped spread the initial false claims about Walz, appearing with an anonymous man, “Rick,” who claims to be a former student. Dougan runs numerous fake news websites used by Storm-1516.

    Emphasis mine.

Isn’t this illegal? Doesn’t he have to register as state-sponsored media or something? Also, Russia is an “Unfriendly Country” - doesn’t that come into play?

  • The fact that there are no other images of this is odd, but assuming it is at an early voting location today, perhaps they are pretending to be “ghost voters”:

As that drama played out, readers asked Snopes to look into social media posts and media stories reporting that multiple counties in the U.S. had more registered voters than voting-eligible residents. One such story was published by the Washington Times and headlined, "Judicial Watch finds 1.8 million 'ghost voters' in 29 states, warns of 'dirty elections.'"

Judicial Watch, a right wing legal activist organization, claimed to have discovered in an October 2020 study that "353 U.S. counties had 1.8 million more registered voters than eligible voting-age citizens."
