If I believed fascism and camps were coming for me I wouldn't let lack of citizenship stop me from fleeing.

The only reason Trump didn't go full authoritarian in his first term was that he didn't expect to win and had no plan. It will be far worse this time.

That's possible. My perspective is that he didn't get things done the first time because he's not an effective leader or delegator.

I don't believe that Trump is fueled by passion or ideals to change the country, its about popularity and playing the game.

He had "plans" for things like The Wall and Locking Her Up, then quickly dropped both of those things. His perceived passion for Hillary is especially notable to me and how quickly he "let her off the hook" after winning. Telling his base to move on and forget it.

What he did with the supreme court will likely be his legal legacy in my opinion. And a lasting one, no doubt.

I get that, but allowing Trump to win this cycle will have far ranging effects on every cycle AFTER this.

Maybe, but I'm old enough to remember this same rhetoric around the GW Bush election too. All the Nazi and fascist comparisons included. The US didn't collapse, and we even got Obama after that.

Not a trump supporter at all, but as a normie and talking to other normies, this messaging of "biden or die" isn't working as well as these echo chambers make it seem.

This is not the time to try to make a statement with your vote.

I do agree that rank choice would be more effective, but as a voter sometimes my vote is all I have to voice my opinion.

Existential war for who? Its not for me or my neighbors. I feel for the people of Ukraine, but I don't understand why suddenly the left is so hawkish to remain the world police. Where is your energy for every other conflict that happens?

Yes, other aid we give has logistics tracking munitions like javelins... That's why we requested it from Ukraine.

I still don't understand why there wasn't a single other user on this instance that could have been modded without legal worries. Really felt like a copout to go anonymous and slowly transition the rest of the team to alt accounts as well.

Unfortunately this instance is an echo chamber and the hive mind has already decided to blindly fund them no matter what.

Ukraine has notable corruption problems and they actively reject our requests for inventory management while also doubling down on their demands for aid.

I support Ukraine's right to sovereignty and defense. But that doesn't mean we must sign up for a blank check and a complete lack of basic accountability.

I'm bracing for a near future where premium "ad-free" goes away entirely and you have the choice between lots of ads for free and less ads for money.

I don't see how this can work when the mod(s) are switching to anonymous accounts. Would the latest fresh alt mod account really be a new person or would it the previous mod with a new alt name?
