  • Sometimes its a gift. My bread maker was a gift, and it brings me a lot of value, but I prob won't pay for it.

Other times it's something pushed on you for fun. My wife made me buy a thermostat gun and now I love it. I test it on the kids too for fun.

  • We don't.

    We're constantly on edge.

Every single message I get from my kids school during the day, I hope it's not a dreaded "school shooting" warning.

Even shit like taking my kids to the park, I have to look around to ensure it's fine. While parents look at me wondering if I'm safe or not.

    It's a shit show.

  • Went to Japan a few months ago. Deer and monkeys, yep.

What blew me away is how it was done - literally living side by side with the animals. Walking next to a deer or being a foot away from the monkey gave me amazing respect for Japan.

Where in the states, we either keep them in cages or fenced off, or we treat them like a nuance and if they come too close, respond with hostility (including the American Deer).

  • It blew me away when I met these people. These real "keep your head down" folks.

When my company laid people off, and then did the shitty thing of rehire them back at a freelancing level, one gal cried tears of happiness that she was given another chance.

I just dont understand it. Like going back to your abuser.
