  • As a person who works in server hosting (not as devops or IT), I'm often privy to customer interactions. I feel like my company does a really good job at damage control - where if we fuck up, some rep gets on the phone and makes things right. We've eaten costs on behalf of our customers.

But sometimes, you just gotta tell a customer to go fuck themselves.

And those customers, those biggest complainers are often in online gambling, crypto, adult content, or racist shit.

We get DDos'd a lot from it. But I'm glad the company I work for doesn't bow down to garbage companies.

  • If I learned anything about public narcissists getting booed and hated in public, it doesn't change them. Elon has been getting shit on for the past two years by people booing to his face, and he still walks into parties like, "Hey it's Me Elon!"

  • You might enjoy CRPG Addict's blog posts about his adventure in Wizardry for DOS.

I beat it through emulation and save scumming, but his playthrough was a lot more tactical, and now Im starting to understand I'm not support to just hit the attack button over and over again!

  • Being a cop has a lot of perks. You get to make up shit and if they don't like it, you get to scream that they're resisting arrest. You even get to rough up people once in a while. If you accidentally kill them, most of the time, you just get fired and then you move to join another city. You don't even have to pay! And even better, you have no obligation to actually protect and serve. That school shooting? Nah... Imma play Wordle.

It's a really sweet gig. I highly recommend being a cop if you love having power and are a POS.

  • Plus, expect to be cleaning up every bodily fluid. All this for $14/hr.

This was me and being a teacher.

I can do a fulfilling job that helps the world by teaching, or I can be a code monkey with a fraction of the work and stress for 5x more the salary.

  • We watched a show where there was a concept called a Dead man's switch, and my wife asked me if I would ever do something similar, but include all my passwords, for everything.

    "Absolutely not." I told her.

No one can know about my smut logins.
