I mean, he doesn't follow the trappings of a comic book super hero (don't @ me about Star Wars comics). He has all the powers and motivations of a super hero though. At the end of the day, Iron Man is just a rich guy, what makes him a super hero is the framing of his media.

I was there 15 years ago as well. There were no Shapiros or Petersons because online video was still in its infancy, but a conservative upbringing and online spaces definitely pushed me down the path that the author writes about.

I changed when I went to university as well. It wasn't liberal arts courses that got me out, it was simply being around a wide variety of different peoples and ideas. Universities don't teach you to be "woke," it forces you into contact with people outside your bubble.

The only reasonable answer is that Musk is intentionally killing Twitter, which is conspiracy theory levels of dumb.

The only other solution is that the richest person in the world (officially) is this stupid. This is almost harder to believe than a conspiracy to destroy twitter.

I actually think the issue is something else though. When zoomed far in it doesn't happen, but when zoomed in a little it does close.

It appears to be some functionality where the image closes when you try to swipe it away, but connect thinks I want to swipe away when I just want to pan while zoomed.

I see this too. I'm assuming the "click on an open image to close it" logic is thinking that dragging the image around counts as clicking on it

I don't give a shit about personal beliefs, I care about outcomes. Republicans' desired outcomes actively hurt people I care about, so I can absolutely tell them to fuck off. Even if they don't "believe in everything," they are indifferent enough to let horrible things happen.
