Can't say that I have. Do you have a sample video with the kind of music you're talking about?

Maybe my reading comprehension is failing me here, but where's the ultimatum? He hasn't made any demands with a specific time limit and repercussions if Scholz didn't meet them. He has only stated his preconditions for peace talks.

• "Children of God" by Mary Doria Russell: Second and final part of a sci-fi series about a Jesuit mission to an alien culture that goes wrong. Like the first part, it's an emotional rollercoaster with a great cast of characters that you really grow attached to (and who often meet tragic ends). The author also created a really interesting alien society made up of two separate species. Oh, and the title might sound like it's a preachy religious book, but it's very much not. Would never have expected it, but this is now one of my favorite sci-fi series.
• "Memories of Ice" by Steven Erikson: Third book of the "Malazan Book of the Fallen" fantasy series. All three books I've read so far were enjoyable stories, but also very complex and not easy to read for sure. I love how the author creates a fantasy world where stone-age cultures play a pretty big role and where pre-history in many ways shapes the current world of the book. Also, quite a good cast of characters, which I didn't necessarily expect given that it's "epic fantasy".

I'm 100% sure they exist and I'm 99.9% sure there won't be any contact over the next 10 years. It's entirely possible there will never be, though I do hope otherwise.

I read books for personal enjoyment, basically never for learning or self-improvement or anything like that. I only ever read one book at a time and mostly in the evening before going to sleep.

I'm in my early thirties. My reading speed varies quite a lot based on the book and my mood, but I've definitely noticed that I've become "worse" at reading in recent years. Too many digital distractions I guess. That said, if I do manage to read for 2 hours before going to sleep, I sleep so much better than if I watch a movie or doomscroll on Lemmy or whatever.

I mostly read sci-fi and fantasy, sometimes historical novels. I think this year I've finished 4 books so far, and dropped one quarter-way through. There were definitely years where I've managed way more.

There are a couple active English-speaking communities there, like /c/europe@feddit.org, but you're right that most content on the instance is in German. It's more that their userbase is also pretty active on other, English-speaking instances and I'm pretty sure that by blocking the instance, you won't see any of those posts and comments either.

Feddit.org is bilingual and has a lot of users participating on English-language communities. So maybe better to block the individual communities if you don't want to decrease the userbase you can interact with.

Just looked this up. It looks like the new generation just shows up as an MTP device instead of an external drive. That doesn't stop sideloading books onto the device, it works as before.

However, they've seemingly stopped allowing the "download and transfer" option for Amazon-bought books, which was an easy way to get them into Calibre and remove their DRM. So that's something to keep in mind for sure if you want to buy ebooks from Amazon.

As someone who has sideloaded a ton of books onto their kindle, why?

Sure you can become honorary Europeans along with the Australians. You'll be expected to send a Eurovision candidate though!

From a Non-American perspective: Europe will hopefully become less dependent on the US and finally build a proper unified army. We might get more skilled migrants from the US, who will bolster our economy.

I had stick insects for a while. Very easy to care for. They multiply rapidly, so the main challenge is keeping their population under control. In the beginning I had males and females, but the males died out at some point. Not an issue for their reproduction though, as the females can basically just clone themselves into an egg.

I wouldn't say giving Harris a 50.4 percent chance of winning is predicting her to win. That's effectively a coin toss.

Guild Wars 2. I'm not really into grinding for hours or optimizing my characters, so I appreciate that the game can be played quite casually. That's also true of ESO, but that one feels basically like a single player game to me, while GW2 feels much more social with a lot of player cooperation just arising naturally through its design. Also love the zone design, having a lot of exploration and things like jumping puzzles. Story is pretty decent as well.

Criminals will be required to work social services for the common good. High-risk criminals will also be put under constant surveillance either by automated systems or, in extreme cases, Human guards to stop them from reoffending.

Maybe look into being self-employed. There should be some opportunities there for a computer engineer. Working remotely for a company in a different area or even country might also be an option, depending on whether that's legally possible in Cambodia.

Learning-wise, I'd say starting on PC makes much more sense. You'll have a much easier time developing and debugging the game, as you can test right on the device you're using to create the game. In terms of it being profitable, it's very likely that your first game won't be. I'd look at it as a learning experience first and foremost that will enable you to make profitable games in the future.
