  • Why is this coming out now? Like we know... Why is this a news story, now? I am absolutely not a conspiracy theorist, but this makes me feel like one. Is something going to happen to Saudi Arabia... Are some powers at be trying to sway public opinion for some reason?

  • I'm far from a Profi in the field but I have looked into it before. There are companies that will do it either in home or take it to them, but often it is expensive. There are many home repair kits available, but the paint on / fingernail polish kinds work poorly. The sand the whole tub down and put a new layer on are better... But the cost and work typically don't justify it. If they are just top surface damages, you could try a higher polish sand job on the tub and see.

  • So it looks like ya got a couple of issues here. As the peeps mentioned, acid - weather in vinegar (preferably stonger like 30%+ if available) or chemicals to take off the lime deposits is a first start. Second it looks like the top layer(s) of the enamel are damaged and or cracked which is why you are struggling with it "coming back and not completely going away". There are fixes for this, but replacement is usually recommended if this is the case.

  • *it can be safely done yes, but but shouldn't and it's not allowed in some areas. Where I live everywhere that sells batteries has to have collection points for their recycling and it is not legal to put them in the trash.

  • I use Jebora and am happy, is there something important I'm missing? I was a Reddit is Fun user before and I like both because of how simple and basic they are. I hated the official reddit app for the reasons above.

Edit: the one thing I don't like is you can't, or I don't know how, to collapse all child comments.

  • Haha, you know what, you're probably right. But I was very nice about it. And it could be one of OPs favorite dishes. Lots of people share photos of every meal they eat on Facebook, so why not here? I'll retract my statement.

  • This is today's version of "Eskimos (Inuit, I know, but that's not how the memes went) have __40 __65 250( insert your number, it won't be wrong) words for snow. This is for the same reason and is now largely known as wrong.

The problem is even German people (I live in Germany) also believe that they have a larger more expressive language than (for example) English... When it isn't true. German has either 5.3 million++ words or 135,000 depending on how you count them. In reality you can endlessly combine words in German together, but it very rarely makes it a "new word".

  • Dear Germans, When someone had a grandfather who was Turkish that doesn't make their german born descendants Turkish... They are german.

Dear brits, The Indian guy who's grand parents were born in Britain... he's not "the Indian guy", he's brittish.

Dear French, French is not a skin color. It's a nationality. A black guy can be French too.

    With contempt

    Immigrant descendents in Europe.

The thing about people's roots is it's complicated, messy, and not only an American problem. More compassion and understanding goes a long ways.

  • It is easy to find many other sources with the same statistics. These as I understand them are people who speak 2 languages and not people who have simply learned some of a second language. There are a lot of American people speaking Spanish in the US, of course there are also for example, 1.5 million who speak vietnamese.

This is broadly true with white Americans when their immigrant background is there already for generations... but a huge part of america does not even speak English at home. America is a melting pot of people from everywhere in the world and they naturally bring their languages, food, and culture with them. It is easy to forget, especially when only looking at specific demographics of a diverse country.

  • Tipping is of course a major issue not just in the US, but in many other countries as well. There are a lot of good books written over the years on the subject. One was written by a career waitress that is worth reading and how it leads to the acceptance of sexual abuse of the waitresses.

It's fun to think about changing it and everyone just stopping it. If this is an important issue to you try and change it. If no one fights for what is right and progress things will only get worse.
