Used by whom? An actual military will need more than a handful of light aircraft to topple the USA and domestic terrorists just use semi-automatic firearms because they're quicker, cheaper, easier and lower risk.

Rigging up a plane to be flown remotely is a non-trivial amount of specialised work and you still need to know how to fly a plane when you're done.

Crashing it into something without an explosive payload has been done and it killed 2 people, one of whom was the guy in the plane. They'll never win the approval of their far-right Discord buddies with numbers like that.

Filling it with explosives isn't easy either since they don't have a death cult that insists anyone should be able to buy them for any reason. Start buying up enough to take down a building and you'll have feds knocking on your door in days (if you don't accidentally blow yourself up first).

There are far more dangerous things to worry about than an imaginary plane.

I think equating purchasing any firearm from anyone to financing the republican party isn't really a sensible claim. It's not like the profit from every gun sale is going directly to the NRA.

You don't have to guess. Around $16 million dollars per year of that profit is going to far-right Republicans. It used to only be $8 million a year but for some mysterious reason it doubled in 2012.

They're going to stop crime, but the crime rate is functionally identical to the rest of the wealthy world, only with a layer of murder on top. They're going to stop tyranny, but America is on the brink of fascism. They're going to save all the minorities, but the most vulnerable groups are openly attacked by politicians and media organizations, with none of the progress made being owed to guns.

You're here literally trying to drive up gun sales for a battle that isn't just unwinnable, it's demonstrably unnecessary.

Accross the continent, a huge number of guns recovered in crimes can be traced back to a gun store in America. It's an incredibly low risk way to source firearms, especially compared to things like "robbing the military".

Anyone can claim to be anything on the internet. If you don't want to be mistaken for a right-wing reactionary, don't respond to "immigrant murdered by Texan gun owner" with "but what if he deserved it?".

Employee wages are often the largest expense for a business and they're always trying to have fewer employees, squeezed harder for more work and less pay.

It really undermines their whole "oh they're just unskilled labor and drones, they don't deserve a living wage" rhetoric. If Amazon didn't need warehouse workers and delivery drivers, they wouldn't have them. They could be working for $1 a day and they'd still be fired the instant that role was no longer needed.

They get away with it because they just need somebody doing the work and there's no shortage of desperate, exploited people. Unions and collective bargining definitely help but ultimately the government needs to advocate for workers and simply say things like "If you use slaves at any step in your supply chain, you and everyone you report to is going to jail and your assets will be stripped to cover the pay you owe them".

It's such a low fucking bar. Almost every law we have boils down to "don't be a piece of shit" but we don't make them for rich people or use them to cover foreign workers.

I actually wouldn't be even slightly surprised if the whole "minorities need to buy guns and carry them everywhere as a magical safety talisman" began as a way of bringing the police-issued excuse "he had a gun so I got scared and shot him" to the public.

Of course, I also wouldn't be surprised if it came from a room full of sleazy gun industry executives who worked out that propaganda and hero fantasies work on left-wing people too.

Edit: I just noticed that the end of your comment genuinely asserts that "not being nice enough to gun owners caused Ulvade" and I think it's important to tell you to go fuck yourself and don't stop until you bleed out.

The Ulvade shooter was a legal gun owner, in a state the pro-gun community claims a utopia. He had a history of death and rape threats but the pro-gun community staunchly opposed any kind of red flag laws. After the shooting, the pro-gun community was adamant that no laws should be changed, essentially saying "we were fine with this gun sale and we'll be fine with the next".

All those words claiming "I'm not like other girls gun owners" and it turns out you're exactly like them -- a self absorbed, manipulative scumbag trying to pretend it's part of some noble cause.
