It's clear they want all those expenses flow to US MIC and to further dependence of EU on USA, so it will never pivot in another direction. EU seen from Poland around 2004 looked like a welcome reprive from the catofash idiocy eating the country, since even with rampant blairism everywhere it really was noticeably more to the left to the polish neoliberal-catholic bog called "compromise" by every govt here even the succdems. Plus EU was determined to literally bribe Poland so that actually got a lot of infrastructure built.

But then with shit like the ACTA and the crackdown on Greece it was increasingly eveident the very declared purpose of European integration and cooperation is just a scam to lick German and American financiere boots. Nordstream bombing and participation in Ukraine war dealth a killing blow for this project and any hope for it. I don't think there was ever a case in history when even a single country, not to mention a coalition of countries, sabotaged themselves for the benefit of another one.
