  • “Why yes, I only listen to the Top 100 Billboard songs. How can you tell?” - OP, probably

In all seriousness OP, broaden your horizons in music. You clearly don’t listen to enough music to know that men also sing about breakups, love, and relationships.

  • AAAA gaming, folks. This is what a real AAAA-quality game looks like.

  • I always interpreted it as knowledge of religion in general. You can be faithful to a god, but knowing what rites, edicts, ceremonies, rituals, holy texts, and even history of other religions is separate from that.

Like, if you are Catholic, does that mean you know all about other religions like Judaism or Islam?

  • iirc that more has to do with lazy coding of their physics system with the Gamebryo Creation engine. From what I understand, the “correct” way for physics to work is more or less locked at 60fps or less, which is why in Skyrim you can have stuff flip out if you run it above 60fps and can even get stuck on random ledges and edges.

There are use cases for tying things to framerate, like every fighting game for example is basically made to be run at 60fps specifically - no more and no less.

  • No, the PS5 can output higher FPS at 1080p.

What you might be thinking of is refresh rate, which yeah, even if the PS5 was doing 1080p/60fps, if you for some reason have a 1080p/30hz TV, you won’t be able to see anything above 30fps.

  • Recent? None right now, but I also rarely buy games nowadays.

If we’re able to go outside of recent times, I’m still pretty salty about buying fuckin RPG Maker 2 & 3 on the PS2 without having a way to connect my PS2 to the internet.

  • Isn’t that pretty much every RPG ever though? Almost all of them have illusion of choice and majority of the time, it doesn’t matter. I will agree with the constricting feeling of BG3, though for me that comes less from dialogue and more from the lack of build variety (which might just be me being really used to 3.5e and not 5e).

Funnily enough, the best game that shows reactivity to your choices isn’t even an RPG, it’s a very fancy CYOA - Detroit: Become Human.

  • Mostly because it has the best character: a wholesome pro wrestler who helps kids and orphanages. Also only speaks in jaguar and always has his jaguar mask on.

  • Smh my head, just do it the Canadian way and buy bags of milk

  • SKAVEN RIDES BIG-HUGE CHICKEN BIRD-THING, YES-YES!

  • Oh sick - I did not know that! That’s really cool actually. Would this be from something like the Smithsonian Museum if I wanted to read up on this kind of stuff?

  • Similar to another poster, I break it down like this:

    • Sex is your physical binary biological gender. If you have a penis and testicles that produce sperm, you are a dude; if you have a vagina, ovaries, and a womb to carry a baby, you are a female. No ifs, ands, or buts about this imo.
    • Gender identity is what you identify as. This is where we go he/she/they, and can be completely removed from the biological sex of the person because gender is psychological and belongs to the sense of self. We use “he” and “she” as binary identifiers of male and female species respectively, but with humans it becomes more complex as perhaps a male may identify as a female-gendered person, or a female may identify as a male-gendered person - or both of them identify as a non-gendered person.
    • Gender roles could (and I personally think should) be separated from both biological sex and psychological gender. This is what we, as human society as a whole, determine the division of labor and what activities, habits, and behaviors are acceptable for men and women. In the past when we were still growing as a species, this was actually important since men were needed to hunt down animals due to biologically being more suited to it and women were needed to do other things while the men were out; nowadays, however, this is a dated concept as anybody can earn money and we don’t live in a world where we need to hunt to survive. Women can just as easily put food on the table and enjoy riding motorcycles or chopping down wood just as easily as men could stay at home, clean the house, take care of the kids, and cook meals for the family for when their partner gets home. If anything, I would say that we could consider the “Masculine/Feminine” dichotomy as a sliding scale at best, but what society considers “masculine” or “feminine” changes all the time, so it’s arguably ultimately worthless trying to categorize this.

TL;DR Biological sex, gender identity, and gender role aren’t all mutually inclusive. If I am a man, I am not beholden to the expectations of being a macho man who slams IPAs and lifts weights while talking about cars; on the flip side, if I am a man who identifies as a female, I am also not beholden to obtaining a Blåhaj shark plushie, wearing kneesocks all the time, losing 60 pounds, and becoming a software engineer who only runs Arch or some other Linux distro.

  • actively discouraged the COVID vaccine and iirc pushed the horse deworming medicine and bleach

“I was not in line with the acceptable narrative at the time”

Color me shocked she got public backlash when using her fame as a platform to spout anti-vax BS.

  • When you’re so old you forget expansion packs existed before DLC and MTX

  • I only recently learned that knowledge, so I’ve only started doing this - hence the “personally, I haven’t seen” comment. But I probably just haven’t read enough of their articles to get a feel for their slants if they have any.

So far though, I will say, both AP and Reuters are a hell of a lot more neutral and matter-of-fact in presenting news than any news outlet in recent years.

  • Reminder that major news outlets like CNN, MSNBC, and Fox just buy their stories from news agencies like Associated Press and Reuters specifically so they can adjust the stories to their agenda. This is why they are news outlets, not news agencies.

If you legitimately want news just being presented as-is, just go to the source and read it directly from the agency. I personally haven’t seen a slant when reading from either Reuters or AP.

  • That’s why I just whack it at least 10 times a day every day. My doctor is worried about other things though, like telling him how often I jerk it.

  • “I’m spiritual”

Doesn’t even believe in spirits, just chi, magic rocks, and Wiccan magic

On another note, if I believe in The Holy Spirit, does that make me spiritual or religious?

  • tbf that’s probably on par with the performance Cyberpunk 2077 was doing on release
