  • If I had to take a stab in the dark, you’re probably thinking of when Overkill released weapon skins with additional unique stats attached to them and trying to make the game Pay2Win with MTX - which is something Overkill themselves said they would never ever do. They got major backlash from the community and reversed that bit of the MTX stuff. The other major drama was either Overkill or Starbreeze going bankrupt and the CEO more or less hightailed out of there to get away from some major legal issues as well as multiple failures with other projects that were not Payday.

Either way, Overkill is going to literally live or die with PD3 because it’s quite literally the only franchise they had that can make any amount of money.

  • Actual question: would that even be something in court? I would imagine the filmmakers of this Snow White could say her design is “inspired” by Disney’s take on Snow White, but otherwise say it’s “original”.

  • Also remember when they went to space and that one kid with glasses almost fucking died from freezing in space?

Yeah, Ms. Frizzle is fuckin wildin

  • I would actually say I interact less, but the things I say on here tend to be more meaningful outside of the dumb jokes and references. Like I have more of a tendency to have an actual discussion on here and write out my thoughts versus on Reddit where I would say low-effort shit or something purely for the dopamine rush of getting those sick upvotes.

  • The only other thing they can do is somehow go back further to when his son is alive, but you’d have to de age him.

Nah, just make a miniseries that would bridge his role from Walker, Texas Ranger to BCS/BB. Johnathan Banks basically played a proto-Mike in Walker, so it wouldn’t be that far of a stretch :p

  • Instructions unclear, put the candle on my forehead to concentrate on it and now I have 3rd-degree burns.

  • That was the name, thank you! Gonna look up Dan and Soren’s podcast again now so I can catch up lol. Also loved Cody’s video on deconstructing Jordan Peterson, that was the first I heard of him since he left Cracked.

  • DoB and Soren have a podcast they do together iirc, but I don’t remember what it was called. I think Swaim does stuff with IGN now and runs his own company?

  • How fucking DARE you. People should be forced to learn how to compile their OS, like Gentoo allows, and then have it crash and burn in front of everybody in social studies when you have to present your LibreOffice presentation about why Teddy Roosevelt was objectively the best president and spent a lot of time on making a slide with Abe the soyjack and Teddy the chad.

/s in case somebody needs it

  • I’ll be real, I only read the headline and was moreso contributing to what the guy I’m replying to said than anything else. I did not read the article.

  • I am always for remasters, especially if they can somehow make it so it can easily be played across all current and future systems. Let people play old retro games and don’t let them get lost to time.

That being said, remakes and rereleases can go screw themselves. Like I’d much rather have RE4 remastered rather than the RE4 remake because the original is still good. All remakes do is cash in on nostalgia and are probably easy to make because they already have the entire game mapped out - which is probably why they are so popular, but goddammit can we get something new instead of a game released 10+ years ago?

  • Yup - and honestly, the people who blindly follow people like Trump or the GOP just “to own the libs” and those like Sanctus who say they’d “rather live in a society that punches people who say women are naturally subservient to men than one that does not,” are the same kind of person: the kind of people who want to control the speech of people who say things they don’t like.

Hate speech, from either side, should not be tolerated. The right tends to say a lot more batshit insane things that are downright vile, and I am deeply sadden that what they say is fucking okay and even cool with others, but that doesn’t give a free pass for people to go “well we should harm them or kill them or something”. Ideally, we would be holding people to a higher standard - especially those in public office - because saying stuff like “women are men’s property”, “maybe Hitler was right”, and “fuck black/hispanic/asian people” is actually hate speech, and that should be called out and have people held accountable for.

  • Bear in mind, BG3 is more much like your typical cRPG while Disco Elysium is more akin to Planescape: Torment but without combat.

Both are extremely well-written, and I would say Disco Elysium is arguably one of the best written games period, but don’t go into DE expecting a whole lot of combat - it’s much more like a visual novel than a cRPG.

  • “Hi there, Tim from the Unimportant Bullshit Times. Can you, unnamed Ukrainian solider who’s actively fighting a war against Russia, tell me what you dislike about the 45th US President, Donald J. Trump?”

It’s like US Defaultism at its highest - they literally went to a country at war to ask the soldiers fighting what they think about a foreign president. Genuinely surprised some even answered because I would not give a flying fuck if I was a non-US soldier fighting for my land.

  • Which beings up another problem of America: leaving shit for corporate entities to fix.

You know what the one thing a corporation wants to do? Make more money. They’re not there to provide a service or good unless it can somehow help turn a profit. So when politicians essentially tell companies “hey, do this thing in whatever fashion you want”, what do you think happens? They ruin it and basically pervert the issue so they can make a quick buck.

  • It also helps that they can Bless somebody whenever they sneeze.

  • Honest-to-God question: is Elongated Muskrat intentionally screwing up Twitter so people can’t use it as a means to communicate? It sounds like a tinfoil hat conspiracy theory, but it’s the only logical thing I could think of at this point that explains this kind of stuff they’re pulling.

  • I heard more recently Linux has been making strides in driver support, so it’s making me consider Linux for my main rig. FWIW, it’s been working perfectly on my Dell laptop but that doesn’t have a dedicated GPU, only an iGPU, so I’m with you on blaming it on drivers :p

  • Or make the switch to Linux. Been running Mint on my old Dell and it’s waaaaaay snappier and better performing than Windows ever was - all for the low, low price of free!
