A lot of people will recommend Kobo readers, but also look into Pocketbook readers. I have their Basic Lux, which is a barebones eReader with a black and white screen. Even though it's lower screen size and resolution, I use it for manga and I think it looks great. They have color ereaders, and some that even run on android (but that takes away from battery life).
Generally getting sent to the SHU (Special Housing Unit) or being restricted from the Commissary (where they can buy stuff like snacks, soaps, and shoes, among other things). They can't reduce or restrict rations or stuff like that.
More so the only way to get results that aren't ad-filled webpages that are paid to be top Google results is to search for reddit posts. Unfortunately a lot of the newer reddit stuff seems to be regurgitated bot accounts reposting stuff, so most useful stuff on Reddit is from before the enshittification.
Then the people who claim to love you choose for you and say that getting shot in the head would be better for you. Any attempt to convince them otherwise is met with absolute disbelief.
