Yeah, this I can understand. Like Applebee's does the 2 for 26 deal where you can get two burgers an appetizer and fries for about 28 bucks, granted they're going to nickel and dime you if you want anything other than a standard Burger which is unlike Five Guys(which is about 22 for a bacon burger, large fry and shake) but you do get a little more food even if the burger isn't as good.
As for how they're still open, it's because despite what others have said on this post. They are still one of the best quick restaurant around, they're also one of the more healthier options. That combined with the fact that they're one of the few fast food joints that actually pays their workers a living wage makes it a pretty big choice for people who want a quick and easy meal
I haven't been to a Wendy's in over 16 years, but like the last time I went to a Wendy's and got a burger it was smaller than the one I would get at McDonald's and felt like it was made of paper mache. They must have changed since then?
Honestly though, Five Guys is one of the few fast food restaurants that I think the price warrants what you get. Like yeah it's 22 bucks for Fry's a burger and a shake but man is worth it you get so many fries in the burgers amazing, and the shake isn't that bad either, Not to mention the free peanuts, which I'm sure sucks if you have a peanut allergy but I love peanuts, plus I like that they pay well, I see signs saying starting pay at 24/h which for fast food is pretty good.
And it's always the sites that you want to have apps that don't. For example I use twitch daily, there are days where I don't even open up a web browser aside from just to watch twitch.
My current work around is I have an electron app that I've coded which is essentially for now just a wrapper of the twitch websites follow page and built in user script functionality to have frankenzface. But the fact that twitch discontinued their native app is obnoxious to me.
Every other video website under the moon has an app, but for some reason twitch can't manage to do this
Thank god, this was well overdue. In my opinion though they should have changed the color to be the red backdrop like what they do when the game is incompatible with your system, because people are going to miss that notice since it doesn't look all that different from the standard Early Access notice
That's understandable I forgot about work/student non-immigrant visa's, these still fall under a legal visa, I don't understand why people with legal visas are being the target. They are in the country legally, there shouldn't be any grounds for deportation for those. Being said after looking into it, it doesn't seem like they need a reason to deport valid visa holders, which is screwed up honestly.
I did a little research on this, and this is insane. The current legal code (8 USC 1201(i)) states
After the issuance of a visa or other documentation to any alien, the consular officer or the Secretary of State may at any time, in his discretion, revoke such visa or other documentation.
and to top it off, it also contains at the end
There shall be no means of judicial review (including review pursuant to section 2241 of title 28 or any other habeas corpus provision, and sections 1361 and 1651 of such title) of a revocation under this subsection, except in the context of a removal proceeding if such revocation provides the sole ground for removal under section 1227(a)(1)(B) of this title.
This sounds like it means that if there is any type of other thing happening (such as an accusation that you broke the law or are here illegally), they can just say "ok visa revoked get out" with very limited possibility to a legal review
I can understand that being the case for actual criminals but, that seems super extreme.
Being said though, 9 FAM 403.11 is the declassified guidelines that it seems officials are supposed to use, and those state:
(1) Unavailable
(2) (U) The individual is not eligible for the visa classification (this includes ineligibility under INA 214(b));
(3) (U) The visa has been physically removed from the passport in which it was issued; or
(4) (U) The individual is subject to an IDENT Watchlist record in System Messages for an arrest or conviction of driving under the influence, driving while intoxicated, or similar arrests/convictions (DUI) that occurred within the previous five years, pursuant to 9 FAM 403.11-5(B) paragraph c, below.
So does this mean that there are 20,000 Koreans listed that are registered for citizenship but are just stuck in processing, and the remaining 120,000 are here illegally? If so I can see why they are deporting the 120,000 but, I don't understand why they are deporting the 20,000 as if they are here legally they should have visas showing their status of being here.
I think that politics being overbearing is hopefully just a trait of the election in the US, now that it's over hopefully the US politics fanatics can move on to bigger and better things. Fingers Crossed.
it's ok, the president will make some rediculous executive order like "all federal vehicles must be tesla", then do no price haggling or something and it'll pull him right out of that bind.
Same way every other penalty is enforced. threat of eviction if rules/terms are not followed.
Student's are entitled to live in the dorms. Sure they pay money but, they agree to follow guidelines. Just like if caught supplying alcohol to minors or partying. Repeat offenses = eviction
I'm not saying a one off should equal eviction but, but there should be a punishment, even if its a warning first.
this is what walmart pulled, my state required them to raise the minimum wage to 13$ about 2 years prior to them doing it across the board, they applied the raise and then used the raise which they were forced to do, as the next 2 years worth of excuses for the lack of cost of living increase.
depends on how its being implemented tbh, steam for example has protections against that stuff. But if they keep the "third party account may be required" style of warning on the page, like they had with helldivers 2, steam will likely not do anything until Sony ok'd the refunds.
Defo avoid buying period unless that warning is gone.
