AFAIK, the name is from back when Reddit still had a positive view of the guy. The subreddit was created as a counter to all the posts painting him in a good light. Nowadays I don't see the point of this community anymore though.
They got done dirty, I hadn't even heard of the lamplighters league until a friend of mine at triumph mentioned it recently. Paradox majorly dropped the ball on this one, with setting the release so close to the widely anticipated city skylines 2 and then not doing any advertising for it.
I'm not super involved with the community but I thought vesc was starting to match futuremotion software, aren't the floatlife guys using vesc as daily drivers or something?
AFAIK it's not even 100$, but 100$ worth of store credit. So people are being asked to return their device but it's ok, they get a tiny discount on the next one that functions pretty much the same.
Onewheels are working as intended, however the cpsc put them under investigation because they questioned the safety of these boards. This recall/firmware update is the result of that.
Fair, but a contract can't overrule actual laws. I'm not sure what exactly those are or where OP lives but if the law says he'd be entitled to that money then a contract couldn't change anything.
