For real. Imagine successful infrastructure and social welfare programs being carried out at the city level, with little or no involvement or oversight from the state or federal governments.
Decentralization is what Republicans claim to be all about. Of course it’s a bullshit claim.
The party that wanted to “destroy the deep state” became the deep state overnight. Imagine that.
Privacy advocacy is necessary to protect people from tyranny, regardless which end of the political spectrum it happens to come from; and regardless whether the oppressor is a state actor, a private corporate actor, or some blend.
How I wish I could have known about personality disorders, and how to deal with / avoid people like that, without having to have learned it all through experience.
It’s possible I misread or misinterpreted the article; but by the description of the testing itself, it sounds to me like what “the flow state” or “the zone” feels like.
Which is fine. The problem for me, is, although I am super effective when “in the zone,” I can’t simply get there on demand. Sometimes it either happens, or it does not (caffeine helps, but doesn’t guarantee success entering the zone).
So, sometimes I’m pretty smart, and other times I’m dumb as a pile of bricks, and I can’t always control which and when.
I’m no psychic or super-empath or anything, but I’m utterly shocked that others haven’t felt these bad vibes emanating from this guy at all.
How weird is that? What kind of black magick mesmerism is this guy practicing? It’s super effective, sadly. But it’s not effective on everybody - it seems people are either completely immune, or completely susceptible to his “charm.”
Anyway, I still don’t get it. I guess I’m immune. No idea why.
Yes, but most Democrats in congress are feckless cowards. They don’t want to be seen “instigating” something ugly.
Instead, they’ll give speeches, hold up plaquards, and write firmly-worded letters.
And the Republicans are complicit, so.
Edit: I’m not sure why I was downvoted for calling Democrats feckless and ineffective, and Republicans complicit in tyranny. Because, well, fucking look around.
I’m not equating the two parties. It’s just that, with a few notable exceptions, our voting choices tend to be between Evil and Chickenshit.
The reason (well, one of the reasons) they don’t do it, is because Trump ignores orders. Meaning: if they want to remove him from office, it would literally come down to sending goons in to physically remove him, and the other goons might resist. It would get ugly.
And I know that, sadly, they probably have a lot more data on me than I’d like. Even though I don’t have traditional social media anymore, and I use VPNs to access Lemmy, that’s just normie precaution stuff. Anyway I do have a Google, Apple, accounts and the like.
My question is this: what do you / y’all think about the prospect of “poisoning the well”?
Meaning: you set up multiple traditional social media accounts, generate fake profile photos for them, give them the same real name as you and part of the country as you live in, and have AI chatbots fill ‘em up with generated posts matching a particular “personality profile”?
Would that be an effective countermeasure against this sort of data collection? Increase the noise-to-signal ratio?
God has a Plan that is far beyond all human understanding (“But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.”).
Then it stands to reason that:
You don’t know if we’re living in the End Times or not, and you cannot know.
God’s Plan cannot be rushed to fit your timetable. Who are you to inject yourself into God’s Plan? (See: Job 38.)
God doesn’t need you to “fulfill” his Plan, or predict his schedule, or “make” Armageddon happen soon by “setting all the pieces in place” (when Jesus specifically says even the angels in heaven don’t have that information). He’s omnipotent and omnipresent. You are not.
Even if you were instrumental in his Plan, you probably wouldn’t know it (see: point number 1).
The terrorists won.
