  • Shock of shocks, a company that refuses to work with a D&I consulting firm is soon found to have serious D&I problems.

Bro this is like saying there's a conspiracy afoot because the cops "magically" showed up to arrest me just days after I shot someone in broad daylight, or that the tree "magically" only fell through your roof after you told the insurance salesman to fuck off, or that your house only flooded "magically" right after you told the plumbers you could handle the burst pipe yourself.

  • Hi there, you seem to be equating death threats and harassment with voting with your wallet, which is wrong and stupid and you should fucking know better.

Also, if everybody else doesn't need to feel pandered to in order to feel good buying a game with a protag that looks like you, you being so "principled" and "vote with your wallet" about games featuring characters that look like everyone else is pretty fucking sus.

You don't live in a bubble of no context, where this energy at defending black consumers who aren't interested in yet another generic brunette white male dudebrotagonist with the snarky quips even Spidey and Joss Whedon would be cringing at.

  • PPE and Vaccine maker stocks, it'll be 5 years to get the initial capital but once I've got it together, those are gonna explode in value on me.

I'd hesitate to switch my college of choice for the friends I'd lose out on, but if I did I would know where I'd try extra hard to get in instead. Def reconsidering the major I study though, the one I went with was sold to me as one of the best and turned out to be fucking useless trying to find any work.

  • Really the last three are the only issues, amd there are ways to specifically address them,

    • Wage gap, for every twentieth multiple of the median of household incomes in the bottom quintile of all incomes, put a percent increase on the nominal tax rate for income above that 20th multiple, and just keep doing that for every 20th after that, also, start counting loans collateralized on capital assets (sans primary home mortgages, primary vehicle car loans and other socially advanceable loans) as salary income for tax purposes, either in all cases or specifically for loans with interest rates significantly lower than the market sustainable rates for loans for everyone else. That or just ban loans with interest rates below the rate of inflation as "failing fiduciary responsibility by literally throwing money away."
    • Cost of Living, the nordics have a good model here, not price caps, but caps on how much you're allowed to raise the price annually. I'd say tie it to the federal interest rate, because it'll be a solid limit on price jacking, and it'll also put a pretty intense counterbalance of class interests against the typical instinct to keep rates low forever because house price go up.

If anything, the fact that these problems can be tackled so simply almost makes them more infuriating, it's taking the active effort of knowingly malicious actors to keep these affronts to our rights to a respectable standard of living in place.

The thieves need you to believe they can't be caught. Their plan falls apart immediately if we act with a plan and agreed on goals.

Unity of action and purpose is the vaccine against corruption.

  • Escaping is a crime in of itself in the US, so most prisoners will just try to keep their heads down and stay out of the way of getting their sentences extended. Also, US prison can be where you're stuck for the rest of your entire life if you keep pushing it, as opposed to in LAM where some countries have a maximum term you can spend on a single prison sentence.

There are also inner gangs inside the prisons that will basically act as a trap for the really dangerous criminals, both for serially getting them into sentence extensions, and for the fact that they're as liable to come after you for trying to escape as the justice system is, and not even getting moved to another prison will be enough to save you from some of them if they think you were trying to flake on them.

  • I wonder if those tenderizing properties are what make people swear by pineapple slices on pizza and burgers

Knowing how much Hawaiians love spam, they're probably over the moon for accompanying elements that can compliment or add to or even concentrate those porkey and salty flavors

  • Ya ever hear about a sandpaper handjob?

Picture one given by a lady who was almost certainly trained by a Korean masseuse.

Not the ones in LA that are playing up the aesthetic to upcharge you, the legit dudes in Korea who put you down naked on a table and leave you feeling like you've been done over with a zester.

I escaped having ma dick completely ripped right off the hilt only through saying I was about to cum and wanted to fuck her first.

I left, picked a sandwich up because I knew I wasn't in the headspace to cook, sat down on my bed, and just considered my life choices with an ice pack over my jeans.

  • Or maybe that you're not so special that you're worth endangering others following an unpaved path.

Multiple points along the Nepalese approach to the summit are crevices that have not been charted or mapped, or developed to facilitate rescues in case you fall in.

Those crevices are crossed by laying a fucking home depot ladder down over them to act as a temporary bridge.

This is not a climb that is ready for regular visitors. It probably won't ever be one so long as we continue letting people just be a fucking mess all over it instead of putting down the actual infrastructure that would be needed for the approach to handle the volume of demand it has.

It would even benefit the locals, they get well paying jobs developing the infrastructure, anyone who wishes to keep doing guide work has a far safer job ahead of them, and after the infrastructure is developed there's now also the newly made safe work of rescue jobs and in maintaining the infrastructure.
