I think, to reiterate, pesky things like regulations limit how much wealth can be extracted from an investment.

That's, like, the whole Conservative playbook. Deregulate to bring in investors; the people & environment in which we exist are not priorities.

Let the prisoners run the prison? Absolutely not.

Force the prisoners to fill the labour shortage? Well now you're spreading their language.

"Thanks for your 'leadership'." The subtext is "your absolute jackassery united enough Canadians to stand against your Conservative supporters."

I think Trudeau stepping down was a prerequisite, but the unprovoked trade war and threatening Canadian sovereignty really turned the tide (or rather, to be more supportive of the active role Carney is playing, allowed the tide to be turned).

Liberals are a 3 day old deli sandwich. And when Canadians say they want change the Conservatives show up telling you they're warm, fresh, and all-natural. Somehow half the population fails to recognize its horse shit!

Our 2.1 party system is what needs to change, and we need to be increasingly vocal about how high a priority that needs to be.

Free speech in no way makes a conversation intelligent or sane.

Free speech is necessary to prevent the government from censoring dissent.

The consequence is that there's little to no legal repercussions to spreading lies and hate. But that doesn't mean there can't be repercussions.

I legitimately wonder if the left needs to simply reverse psychology the entire conservative movement.

He is a man who shot for the moon and, instead of landing among the stars, found himself stranded on the cold, lifeless rock, drifting along forever, alone, exactly where he said he wanted to be.
