  • And to think that this all started because Gabe was afraid that microsoft's "app store" would hurt Steam so he decided to fully embrace Linux to in preparation. I bet not even Gabe expected back then that the situation would be as it is today.

  • Still on poe2 for now. Over 250 hours in by now and don't feel like stopping any time soon. I took time off from work when it launched and I'm getting back tomorrow so will have to learn how to balance the two now.

  • I don't even remember the name of the game, but it was a gba game where you played as a blacksmith and you had to craft your own weapons and go down some mine to collect materials and progress the story. I was 18yo at the time, had just started living alone, didn't have internet or TV or anything to do. Downloaded that game at work then went home to play it and suddenly I had to leave for work again. It was the first time I stayed up all night playing something. I remember dozing off that next day and even writing stuff about swords in the middle of some work documents.

  • Most of it comes from the same place, which you can just filter out. I've done so for a few stuff that was showing up all the time and the whole experience got a lot better.

  • I read somewhere that back then Microsoft was looking to buy some game to include on windows and everybody was showing then games that are more "videogame-ish", with some level of violence or stuff like that, which Microsoft didn't want. Eventually some guy at Microsoft had just rejected another game and said something like: "can't someone just create a pinball game or something?" and someone overheard and created what we now know as Space Cadet Pinball.
