It's one of those all inclusive resorts in Turkey. You are correct that it's the bathroom. I'm not sure why there's a window looking into it. The blind is outside so if someone went into the bathroom, I could pull up the blind. It's very strange.
When it comes to contradictions and hallucinations, sometimes people will put out contradictory information or act hypocritical, the difference is intention. ChatGPT can't help but make contradictions and hallucinations because it has no awareness of what information it's putting forth. It will very convincingly present incorrect information and not know that's what it's done.
It is impressive. Except it's being touted as more impressive than it actually is and that's what annoys me. The complete lack of critically evaluating these models and then giving into survivorship bias.
That's all aside from the privacy and copyright concerns.
I love Sci-Fi. One of my favourite authors is Philip K. Dick and I've written stories about AI.
I cannot grant the concession that the likes of ChatGPT and Midjourney qualify for the moniker of AI. It would require lowering my standard for what I constitute to be intelligence, such as having a basic degree of awareness. ChatGPT for example will contradict itself and hallucinate information (not new information, just irrelevant and incorrect information) and can do so in the same response. This is not intelligence, this is the mere imitation of intelligence and that is not sufficient.
"Artificial Intelligence". The marketing has overtaken reality and common sense. Until the datasets are re-evaluated with information given with consent, I refuse to consider this snake oil anything more than a fad.
Pretty much, yeah. Shoes have some utility which varies between the type of shoe it is but that's typically not a reason to collect shoes, it's just how I see them. I don't feel the need to have more than one type of shoe for the task I need them for.
Action figures I can see from the perspective of nostalgia, I guess. My friend collects Godzilla/Kaiju/80s Sci-Fi figures and I can get that they look nice on a shelf. But if we compare that to say Warhammer miniatures then it's a different ballgame. Warhammer miniatures need to be assembled and then painted which is a time-consuming process especially for a beginner like me. Some people like assembling and painting miniatures others like the tabletop they're used for so one group can cater to the other. Some people like doing both.
I mentioned my PS3 and abandonware titles but I'm not collecting them just because I want to own them. I back up the data from the discs onto my PC for preservation/emulation purposes.
Emulating games is important but I would argue that preserving the games is moreso. If you have discs of old games lying around (I grabbed the original floppy disk version of Marathon by Bungie for less than 5 quid), please find out how to dump them into an ISO or some other archive. It's important now more than ever as games tend towards digital distribution and old games are lost to time. The games don't have to be good, they just need to be preserved.
You do realise that the birth rates will slow down during the conflict, right? Who's going to be having a baby when the nearest hospital is being shelled? Assuming of course that both parents even survive.
That 50,000 per year won't hold for this duration and I won't be surprised if it shrinks to below 1,000 by the time Israel is finished.
Honestly, I fucking hate the new Dune. The old Dune at least has charm for how goofy it can get. The characters and editing choices I have huge problems with. It's a very pretty movie and most scenes made it in but the characters just aren't there. Also the world isn't established properly. They don't even mention the Landsraad until the tailend of the movie but they're important to know about because they are why the Emperor takes the strategy he does.
I've had this one in my head because I genuinely thought it existed.
Tank Crew Simulator. It's like Fury where you're in a little tank with three other guys. Your view of the world is through a tiny slit in the metal or if you decide you want to risk getting your head blown off, you can open your hatch. If you're the loader, make sure the main gun operator has a round loaded into the cannon. If you're driving, don't be that guy who runs over an anti-tank mine. As the gunner, it's your duty to keep your head connected to your shoulders.
I don't remember if it was said in the doc itself or it was a video discussing the doc (I think Hbomberguy), that said "they (flat earthers) are attempting a form of science".
To me, what that says is, if they were intellectually honest with genuine curiosity, then they would've changed their views in the face of contradictory evidence. Time and time again, they showed that they weren't willing to do that even after seeing the results of their own experiments.
As you said, they've staked too much on this notion that the Earth is flat and can't afford to give up the grift now.
Everything you've said I agree with wholeheartedly. This kind of cornercutting isn't good for us as a species. When you eliminate the struggle involved in developing skills, it cheapens whatever you've produced. Just soulless garbage and it'll proliferate the most in art spaces.
The first thing that happened was that Microsoft implemented ChatGPT into Windows as part of their Copilot feature. It can now use your activity on your pc as data points and the next step is sure as shit going to be an integration with Bing Ads. I know this because Microsoft presented this to our company.
The most comprehensive Installation Guide is the one on ArchWiki bar none. I used the ArchWiki well before I started using Arch Linux, it's just that good.
Why, what? Why is the goal important to me? I just feel like there needs to be a goal beyond just collecting for the sake of collecting.
