Universities have experimented with more private social networks. I remember YikYak back in my uni days. They either don't have the resource to spin one up or they don't know about it.

I don't think the comments here are really understanding the meme. The image is based on Cruelty Squad, a game about a hypercapitalistic society. Pyrocynical has a really in depth video with clips from his interview with the developer.

The results which are probably not ideal isn't so much of a problem when you factor in the costs. GPT is good good enough for far cheaper and that's why people are being replaced.

The EU is consistently voting in regulations for consumer protection and Right to Repair is one of them. Apple frequently gatekeeps their tech, forcing you to buy another phone which is already among the most expensive devices on the market. This allows anyone to crack open an iPhone to change their battery when it becomes problematic which is likely to be cheaper than getting a new phone. There very few people I came across who had no battery issues with the iPhone 6. At that time, if you wanted to use an iPhone you either went back to the 5 or you just suffer through the issues. Most people stuck it out because Apple charge out the ass for making minimal changes to their phones.

America is not the main protagonist. Other countries are doing other things. No one is asking the US to be a hero and save third world countries, they're asking for aid which every Western country is involved in.
