Your users are getting that because they have a plex account that they use to stream. They might stream from just you, but they could stream from any other shared server they're connect to. That's why they get this email.

If you have a plex pass and are a server owner, they can ignore this and keep streaming from you for free.

If they try to stream from a server owner who does not have plex pass, it won't work unless the user themselves have a plex watch pass, which let's them stream from any server that doesn't have plex pass.

Since you have plex pass, your users won't be impacted at all.

Actually I never record videos and rarely take pictures with them. It's the feature i use the least.

I use them for music, phone calls, and AI requests (like having a Google home you can ask at any moment). Once and a while I'll ask it to tell me what I'm looking at to listen to it describe something. That feature uses the camera to snap a shot of what your looking at.

When I walk somewhere and need to use maps, it tells the directions to me as I walk which is pretty neat.

I mean, maybe of ots done well. I have the meta raybans and love them, mainly because I can listen to music as if I had earphones in, and talk on my phone with them, record, and take videos.

If it had a UI to select options and could display info too, that would be pretty sick imo.

You could buy a quest 2, connect it to your 5 year old PC and play it just fine. I ran it off a gtx 1070ti with that headset just fine.

What? Quest 2 is like $250 and it connects to your PC and works just fine for Alyx.

Well, it was $75 CDN when i bought in 2012, it's $150-170 CDN now, and going up to $249 USD which converts to $358 CDN, so I'm assumong they'll round down to $350 or up to $360 CDN.

The conversion from USD to CDN kills it for us sadly. It's just such a huge jump this time. More than double on this bump.

If you have plex pass lifetime already, your family can still streams fully from your server. Nothing changes here.

Yea, no change for lifetime pass holders. Anyone connecting in remotely can still stream like normal.

As a plex pass lifetime user, this doesn't change anything for me.

I am, however, blown away that the price went from $75 CDN to $350 CDN over the last 10 years!! That's just insane!
