  • Nah, I'd like to turn that around. It is not necessary for you to eat eggs, so it shouldn't affect you, same as it doesn't affect me. More inclusive, you know? Together towards a better world.

I'd prefer some salted nuts and kidney beans in my enchilada, quinoa is a bit overrated tbh.

  • I meant that Europe is moving in the same direction as the US is, with fascism on the rise again. European leaders are now merely reacting to what the US leaders are doing in terms of tariffs, which will increase costs and inflation for both the internal markets.

When you see your country as more important than (people in) other countries in the rest of the world, that's just short-sighted and unjustified.

  • The US is not the only democracy that is currently endangered. Europe can easily follow suit, South America in some parts as well, as we've seen.

Freedom doesn't come freely, it has to be fought for, hard, time and time again.

  • In a democracy, however flawed it may be, politics are still the result of a large part of the population's will. Which is strongly influenced by propaganda of course, and without much thought of all the consequences that it may have, but still. Protest against these politics can come in many forms, depending on how strongly people are affected by it, never mind how exhausted people think they might be.

Then there's also the military, does anybody here have any insight how they feel about the recent political changes that have been carried through?

  • You mean they don't want us to know that cows need to get a calf every year to produce milk, but that the calves don't get that milk but are raised for slaughter? Or that cows only live to 1/3rd of their natural life span, because they are brutally coerced to the slaughter house when their production goes down? Where they're not always fully sedated when being killed? Chewing like crazy to get all the food into the milk (and manure), using up a large area in agriculture as well as tropical rain forest? Continuously producing greenhouse gasses for fertilizer for animal feed, or just by belching? Being kept under light at night to further increase production? Usually staying indoors? Yeah, I wonder why they don't bring that up during commercials.

  • Usually trends tend to spread from America to Europe, sooner or later. McDonalds, movies, series, software, obesity, ridiculously large pick-up trucks, fascism. Okay, the latter was first exported to the States, like pizza, but it now returns in full swing.

  • True, it's a multi-level fuck-up, which nature is showing us quite clearly. Solutions would not need to be that difficult, just gradually stop burning fossil fuels, stop eating meat, build responsibly and spread money evenly. Too bad that all the people getting rich from these things have a succesful propaganda campaign going on. Nature will not be tamed however, not in the foreseeable future.
