Our first desktop was a 365k. It cost $5600 Canadian and my father had a program at his work that allowed him to buy it and pay it back in payments. It took him 5 years to pay it off.
What if you don't live in a city? We are country folk and operate a farm that feeds you city folks. Cities can't exist with out us back woods country folk. Our "car" works every day.
I was a paramedic for years. Same situation. Bouncing around from job to job was the best part. After leaving being a medic I've had a bunch of jobs. So many. I just can't stay interested.
It's true. Makes a fella feel good. I wear a kilt every day. Any trip outside our little town...compliments from women. Something most men never recieve.
"Kill em all". Canadian here. Disabled folks like myself have been taking this route for a while now simply because they can't afford to live any longer. That's pretty fucked. Canada doesn't want anything to do with us or the "junkies". They'd rather we die.
As someone permanently disabled and on CPP this scares the shit out of me. I can not physically work due to a debilitating injury but I am still quite young and have a young family. We barely get by with my spouse working and my CPP payments. I went from making over $100k/year to $14/k a year disability just for being injured. I am not poor enough to qualify for any other assistance and I am also not sick enough to qualify for any other assistance. If my income drops again we are fucked. Seriously fucked and we are fortunate because we own our own home and our own 15 year old vehicle outright. I can't imagine what will happen if this occurs.
When you sit behind a computer all day instead of living.
