  • Okay, and? What do you want us to do about it? Those companies are never willingly going to become cruelty free, and the government will never force them to while the bribery, I mean, lobbying continues.

The only way these companies will go cruelty free is if people totally stop buying non-cruelty free products, which again won't happen because most people can't afford cruelty free products.

  • Your order being fucked up or undercooked, or having an allergic reaction is a valid reason to have your meal comped, merely not liking the food is not a valid reason. It sucks you didn't like it, but it's no fault of the restaurant. That's what you ordered. It doesn't matter you only took two bites of it, all the restaurant can legally do with it is throw it in the trash, so it's still a loss for them.

  • Could also just be an insomniac like me. No narcolepsy and I can sleep like a baby, but getting to sleep is like pulling teeth. Life's responsibilities don't follow my shitty sleep patterns tho, so I'm constantly not getting enough sleep.

  • Yep. Also noticed that the principal that called the police and the DA refusing to drop the case have the same last name. Garza isn't that rare of a last name, but it's not exactly "Smith", either. I'd bet good money those fuckers are related to each other.

  • They're orbiting around the earth at those speeds, but the relative speed difference between two objects orbiting the same planet could be anywhere from 0km/s all the way up to the combined orbital speeds of each object(i.e if both objects are going 15km/s, then the max possible speed they could whizz past each other is 30km/s), depending on which direction the objects are traveling.

Think about cars all traveling the speed limit(say, 40km an hour) on a straight road. The cars going the same direction as each other have no speed difference, they're moving relative to the earths surface, but relative to each other they're not moving at all. The speed difference with a car going the opposite direction, on the other hand, would be 80km an hour.

  • Quick question, WHY do these funnyish tumblr crops always have one of those annoying "tumblrism"(for lack of a better term) comments on the bottom? Just crop a little higher...

  • No, those companies aren't wrong, but they're not entirely right either. The answer to "6 ÷ 2(1+2)" is 1 on those calculators because that is a badly written equation and you(not literally you, to be clear) should feel bad for writing it, and the calculators can't handle it with their rigid hardcoded logic. The ones that do give the correct answer of 9 on that equation will get other equations wrong that it shouldn't be, again because the logic is hardcoded.

That doesn't change the fact that that equation worked out on paper is absolutely 9 based on modern rules of math. Calculate the parentheses first, you then have 6 ÷ 2(3). We could solve from here, but to make the point extra clear I'm going to actually expand this out to explicit multiplication. "2(3)" is the same as "2 x 3", so we can rewrite the equation as "6 ÷ 2 x 3". All operators now inarguably have equal precedence, which means the only factor left in which order to do the operations is left to right, and thus division first. The answer can only be 9.
