May be more pertinent to start a thread on like c/technology and share your redacted docker configuration and errors. If you do that, PM me the link and I'll take a look and offer what help I can.
Thanks for bringing that to my attention. I didn't mean this community as in Beehaw, but this community as in Beehaw Support. Definitely could have been clearer.
Thanks for asking. Doing better this week than last; feeling better and handling things better. Kiddos are still annoying, but not as as stressful. Work stuff is still anxiety inducing. trying it ignore it.
As a home user I'd recommend btrfs. It has main line kernel support and is way easier to get operational than zfs. I'd you don't need the more advance raid types of zfs or deduplication, btrfs can do everything you want. Also btrfs is a lot more resource friendly. Zfs, especially with deduplication, takes a ton of RAM.
Well, the 'official' devs/mod matrix chat kicked me out and banned my user due to refusing to do free work for them. 🤷♂️ . So not going to be getting any help there.
It's working as expected for functionality, same cannot be said for any 0.19.x release
See 1, 2, 3, and the matrix chat for Lemmy mods/admins; lots of reports of worse performance currently .
Database changes for 0.19.x release, when upgrading from 0.18.5 will cause extensive down time (based on reports of other instances). Need to plan that out and ideally TEST IT before doing so on prod. Admin team haven't had time to do that yet; life happens.
Pict-rs updates and changes aren't compatible with the current version used for pictrs or Lemmy. IE, once we attempt to go up to a 0.19 release it either works, or we're in a broken state with only recourse to roll back the entire system to a prior backup. Yes, we have those, yes we can do that but really don't want to.
Yes, Beehaw admins are still planning a move to other software. See above about the admin team time constraints.
Not at all. I'm a user of the product/service, not the creators friend or even acquaintance. If their product sucks, I'm more apt to speak against that. If the persons worldview sucks, that's their problem; so long as it does not infect their tech or media. If/when it does, that's a different aspect.
It gives me warm fuzzies to see that balance going up, while at least maintaining current services. Thanks for putting it together Alyaza.
