Steam has the stance that it will "release" a version where you just get valid license from the game you purchased and downloaded before they shutoff service should it belly up in the end. Epic does not really have the same thing announced anywhere, but I'd assume similar thing.(Note, Epic has more net worth than Valve, they can afford to shut EGS and still provide EOS/license check almost indefinitely even if they stopped selling games on EGS as a platform.) And it's why steam has that 3rd party DRM tag/block on games.(I wish EGS has this tag or information as well)

Denuvo is quite different however cause:

• it's harder to patch out, and the platform do not have access to those part.
• it adds additional game breaking point( say if you bought a game that has it and also "always online" you need game company, Denuvo, storefront platform and your internet up to play that game.)

I think steam and epic would have bot that buy and patch out the game's DRM like day 1 after release, they don't care cause majority of their user won't bother downloading shady program from a shady website. The publishers however care and thus we have this issue of them "trusting" Denuvo to shield them from piracy during launch window.

I still vote with wallet and generally only buy single player game after they removed Denuvo or just buy those on PSN, cause I trust platform to last longer than Denuvo.

I also hope that software companies also move to have better support on linux. (so home/work can all be on more stable OS. ) Using api wrapper isn't really a good solution.

even if a meteor hits and wipe out one side of Earth, google(or any big tech's) data centers around the world would still be functional.

honestly if not for DirectX and whatever windows specific thing, I would have use linux for a long time cause I am heavy gamer. I know this version of windows OS is probably experimenting offering stuff that are directly on the cloud(like office/team etc), I don't see them suddenly throw away local OS market and just let whoever wants to take over. (oh, and all the telemetry data, right? )

everytime I am tempted at thinking maybe give w11 a try then some news pop up about how badly they put ad in everywhere. :P

The common stance against DRM is not the "entitled" part, but to be able to keep playing it even if the companies involved are gone. For games with Denuvo or other DRM there are things like these to consider:

• the Denuvo company's server shuts off(whatever reason, blackout, maintenance,etc), your DRM now can't verify if you have legit copy or not.
• the game company shuts off, no one left to patch out DRM, your game is in limbo. (cause they have to pay Denuvo to keep the licensing/verification. )
• your internet went off.(this part depends on game and how often they need to refresh the "valid" token)

With games that have no DRM you have none of the above concerns.

I mean just sort by net worth hold and grouping them, not grouping by income. ie., top 1% by net worth, top 20% by net worth. Cause some people don't have income but have a lot of net worth.

I believe that number is gonna be very surprising when just using liquid + fixed assets net worth instead of income percentile.

I like chat bot IF it actually tries to help you and sort through/filter simple DIY support issues. There are some chatbot I think just leading you around the circle or just there to frustrate you so you give up.(basically like the voice command phone menu or waiting queue that auto disconnect you.)

On a side note, if a company/service really like to keep their customer, they should just implement that keep queue place and call back system.

I wish they have a unlimited resource + monster respawn every day sandbox mode if you beat the game.

There is nothing wrong to build a business on top of Foss. But it is immoral to exploit GPL license loop hole. I don't like redhat anyway since it's early days.

yeah the scraping content is the issue, not the linking. So this bill is pretty stupidly formed. They can simple require google/meta only provide line, title and max 250 letters abstract/trimmed first paragraph(excluding space and punctuation.)

They(Canadian medias) want the traffic to their site so they can display sponsor ads or sell subscriptions.

How exactly is it different from just freeze your asset/account and you can't take cash out of ATM again? I mean the shut you down part. Okay, that's do a situation check.

• say I am some activist protest and is PITA to some gov official, and he wants to make my digital wallet not usable with my government verifiable method.
• I found out either I can't use the service I was using or say the money is gone, then talk with lawyers backing my org.(maybe others in the same/similar org will run into it as well.)
• pile up the case and evidence then go check directly with the bank about why the service not working(either directly with BoC or other down stream banks, depending on how that service is implemented)
• bank, like freeze asset might tell you you have court order or something that freeze your account from withdrawing. someone has to give the order and press the switch to block your service.
• now you have the upper gov level to inquiry, file law suit or Freedom of Information request. Just find out who give the order to cut you off from financial system.
• make some news and see the distrust destroying their control over night/week. Whoever push to cut you off to make you example off will deal more damage to the entire economical system than damage to you.
• It's not China here.

As with anything in financial, the only way to prevent bank runs is "trust" that when I want to use my tokens/bills/whatever other format, it's there and nothing is changed. It was tried and true pretty much through out the history with currency not actually mint from valuable stuff(gold/silver/etc). In fact, for some regiment change to combat corruption, a very good way is to issue new bills and expire the old ones. A good standing citizen where most of their asset in trackable source(bank, liquid cash) can simply just deposit and exchange with new bills. The corrupt hoarding actual cash will have hard time to exchange or declare where the huge pile of cash is coming from. that's why more "modern" corrupt usually convert to other stable foreign currency, and why modern money laundry network(between countries) is forming to try deal with those. It's also why you have to declare cash or things of value exceed threshold when you enter Canada.

A full digital approach would cut a lot of cost from our financial system and make a lot of things accountable. It can be issued as a format like prepaid visa card for foreigner visit temporary so there are no privacy issues. You can't use them to purchase outside Canada anyway.

So tell me what other concerns you have regarding not having cash?

well, with all the people complaining about the money laundering, tax evasion cash deals etc, going digital means it's all verifiable.(part of why China is also considering cause their corrupted finds way to move money out despite of strict regulations.)

It's not, the environment/atmospheric fog/scatter is what makes your eye define scales on earth like environment. The 2022 screenshot has non of that and looks very bad CG vibe.

Returnal is not fully procedural, it's lego like procedural.(rooms types are limited, but the layout is procedural.)

Riftbreaker(RTS-ish with a player controlled mecha) procedural generate the location and missions so the resource type distribution roughly matches how much you "expand" your area of control. (ie the more you expand outward, the more rare resource patches starts to show up.)

Many rougelike/lite use procedural generated levels.

Basically, you can check around the link generated by Google, there is a vertical 3 dot icon for more options.(only on desktop site) when you click it opens a panel on the side, to can then see the bottom and click the "cached" page. This world for anytime a website is down, the website no longer exist, or in our current case, to not visit actual Reddit.

Starship Troopers: Extermination is PvE wave/extraction shooter, from the company that developed Squad. Looks pretty fun but if you are not into that universe nor have enough friends you'd need to rely on other players as well.( basically max 12 players in 3 teams atm.) Warning: early access so if you are not tolerant to EA type of development/update cycle just avoid.

There is a couple other PvE wave/extraction shooter as well, so give them a try.( Just google that term, usually around $30 and could go on sale.)

Rocket League, this one I played since launch and really good game to start before your group all come online and then move on to other games.(since it supports up to 4v4, but usually people only queue 2v2 or 3v3 matches.)
