Windows doesn't run every game i want. I couldn't get the first Command and Conquer to be playable at all. I have had the same experience many times with older strategy and simulation games: they just don't work very well on modern Windows.
By contrast, so far Linux does play every game i want. My entire library going back decades works just fine with Wine or Proton. It's easy once you get used to using a translation layer.
I don't play Apex, League, or Fortnite, so that's probably why i dont feel like i'm missing anything on Linux.
It's a messaging app, it's useless if there is nobody to message. I dont have any friends using signal yet.
Also it doesnt work on my phone (Ubuntu touch). There used to be a community app but it's not currently working.
I sincerely wish them success, but it's hard to have faith that a US-based company will actually protect your privacy. Not that Telegram does either. I dont know what information they do even collect.
Nothing new here. E2E is only available in one on one chats and is disabled by default. Dont use Telegram if privacy is your main concern.
At least it has an open-source client. Very few messaging platforms can say that, and fewer have a decent UX.
It's not perfect, but it's got a good combination of features and multi-platform availability. None of the other messaging apps support all of my devices except Matrix, and Matrix doesn't have stickers
Edit: Signal doesn't support all my devices but maybe someday! The network effect is also big. None of my family and friends are on Signal, but most have Telegram. A few have Matrix.
Also Signal is a US-based company.
Edit 2: Matrix does have stickers, i guess I'm switching
With mushrooms i often rely on other citizen scientists rather than the ID robot. There are some very friendly and active mycologists who can be a big help figuring out an ID or telling you what to photograph next time to get better data
i upload photos i take of plants, birds, mammals, reptiles, fungi, and bugs. The observations (photos + location + annotation) are uploaded to a public database accessible to researchers and universities.
I've been involved in multiple species range expansions, and i've documented both endangered and invasive species. Pretty fun!
The Android app is very good. The iOS app is good for uploads, but lacks a lot of browsing features like search filters and phylogenetic trees. If you are on iOS i suggest using it in a browser except for observation uploads
You can also upload audio recordings for bird and bug sounds. It's amazing what you can learn about your local ecosystem!
If i force system scaling, everthing looks great but games dont get to use the full 4k. If i go with app scaling the games look fine but some apps are blurry.
I figured out a halfway solution where i use no scaling and just made the fonts bigger, but some ui elements are still tiny, and steam doesn't scale at all.
Is there a way to disable system scaling for just selected applications?
IBT is on the stronger/darker side, Darjeeling is on the lighter side.
IBT should be rich, dark, high in caffeine, with a strong flavor that doesnt get overpowered by milk, or ruined by a little oversteeping. It can still be burned if you use water that's too hot.
Darjeeling should be amber-colored, light tasting, moderate in caffeine, and should have some floral notes. The flavors can be drowned out by milk or oversteeping in my opinion. Best black and lightly steeped in sub-boiling water.
This functionality is or is not part of the game itself. Windows game devs usually only expect an xbox controller, even though Dualshock and Switch Pro controllers are also popular.
I don't see the point in downvoting someone when they misunderstood something and OP clarified, but perhaps i just don't understand Lemmy.
If anything maybe I'd upvote the reply for visibility.
Anyway you seem nice, please don't take my comments personally. I think the groupmind that gave you a ton of upvotes and that other person a ton of downvotes just rubbed me the wrong way.
I like Evolution too
