Wow, blast from the past! I was surprised I remembered so many of the lines. There's an artist called Pogo that did a banging remix to Data & Picard
Sports streaming rights is a scam, and I'm so frustrated on my partners behalf. I'm not even the sport fan! Local blackouts and exlusivities mean shelling out for cable as streaming doesn't cover his teams.
'The chip was only intended for adults'. I know there are plenty of adults that adore a challenge of spice foods. My experience in marketing tells me these people knew exactly what demographic they'd be hitting hardest with this type of challenge.
Just got it going on my end. I've been pretty happy with Memmy, but I can't say no to the Outrun theme. Most of the apps I've sampled have had an 'Apollo' feel, but this might be the closest so far.
I like how it displays the instance name in the front page, but I've found usernames useful so I can block individual spammers.
There was a similar thread the other day and the resounding advice was to also select English in language settings. I use both Voyager and Memmy and it seems to have fixed the same issue for me.
There was a Guardian article linked in the comments above that provided more context to the equal pay issue. The offending employer in this case was the council.
I have the same issue with Memmy, but also Voyager (IOS). I had also read a week or so ago a comment insinuating it was a federation issue with Lemmy.world commemts. I noticed the one comment saying they could see em was a .world account.
Something similar, if less life threatening, happened to me. My car had been stollen a while back and I avoided the random call from an area code 50+ miles away. Turns out it had been the cops from that area telling my they found my (stripped) vehicle. Impound lot ended up getting the car AND overnight parking fees. Absolute racket.
Oh wow, I believe this is referencing the same site as a video essay I recently watched. As someone who's struggled with ideation I've limited the research I've done, but this sounds like an awful trend. I don't believe you need Tor to access this site, but I could be wrong as reporting states vague
Considering this quote from the article;
'Firefighter Aaron Clark, whose father was also a district firefighter, choked up as he recounted how growing up his dad took him to the parks using the passes and how he now does the same thing with his three daughters.'
I think you're spot on. They also mention discounts in the park which was a part of a cast member badge. When I worked in the parks I could have sworn they also had the blue ID (as opposed to green for 3rd party vendor), but that was a while ago.
I'm a reverse vampire (when I donate blood), and can confirm we're up to no good
