  • That's such an incredibly reduced "summary" that you can as well call it false. But in your eyes good and evil are strictly defined. Must be nice (for you). Sadly, that's neither helpful, nor good, nor a solution.

  • I know this type of scary talk. It also comes up when people talk about assisted suicide. Some people on the fringe believe it would be a good option for addicts, the homeless, etc.

They believe it's a rational standpoint. In reality they ignore the consequence this approach would have for our society on a psychological level.

  • What about the approximately 20 % Palestinian Israelis? And do all of the Israelis have to disappear somehow and look for a place to live in other countries? Or only those who are first generation immigrants? Are you against immigration in general, btw?

"Kick people out of their homes", so are you talking about the illegal settlements in the Westbank now?

You could start reading about in on Wikipedia.

  • You are talking about how every group can be discriminated against and how you aren't even sure if it really is antisemitism and how anti-semitism is often just misunderstood totally valid Israeli criticism.

Hmmm.... Sounds to me like you don't want to see the issue here.

  • Who is supposed to pay those reparations if Israel doesn't exist anymore and there are no Israelis?

How are the Jews supposed to protect themselves from the people who want them out of the country or dead (which is the reason why Israel came into existence in the first place)?

What kind of state do you think Palestine would be? Or is it okay to have a Muslim ethnostate but not a Jewish one?

  • I just wanted to reply "but those who aren't rich would suffer" before I realised that's not part of the perspective of rich people, probably...

  • Than if Palestinians now want to exile Israelis that also gives them the right to fight back.

  • So you basically don't want the news or anyone to talk about it because it's a non-issue?

  • What is supposed to be done about the rockets shot at Israel and about the terrorist attacks?

  • They were already living there as well. You do realise that, yes?

  • People are really uneducated about how Israel came into existence. This is a country from a group of people who already lived there. It wasn't external conquerers who came to the land.

  • So you people actually want Israel to be gone? Where shall all the Israelis go, in your opinion? And why do the Israelis have less of a right for a country than the Palestinians?

  • What kind of perspective does one need to have to believe it is good when there are no resources (money, people) to care for the elderly?

  • You explicitly wrote that you are shocked people react differently. The reason is they have different practices in mind. In context of that question this difference does matter.

That doesn't have anything to do with whether or not you are against both practices or not.

  • In Europe there are more Muslim refugees though, than, for example, in North America which gets more regular Muslim immigrants.

It's a specific problem in Europe with an influx of refugees from war torn and poor countries who are often troubled, more extreme in their religion and potentially less educated (because they fled from shitty countries).

I guess it's more connected to those circumstances than with Islam in itself. Statistically, more educated and better off people are less religious. I suspect that's the same with Muslims?!

  • So you don't get it? The reason is obviously some people find one thing less bad than the other and objectively speaking FGM is worse than male circumcision.

For (I believe) most people in the world both are bad. You can be against both and still see a difference. What is shocking about that?

To believe someone is pro male circumcision just because they think (several types of) FGM are worse is zero-sum thinking.

  • I am not sure if this was supposed to be a response to my comment?
