  • Some random thoughts:

    • For vegans it's adviced to take certain extra vitamins, for instance B12
    • Also, when you are talking about health, i would not underestimate exercise, even a brisk daily walk. I don't know for sure, but i suspect this will have more impact on our health, than taking multivitamins.
    • As someone else commented here, i think fibre is also very important. And drinking enough healthy fluids.
    • As a personal aside; i did notice a difference when i started supplementing vitamin D. I was surprised to notice that my energy level seemed to go slightly up.
    • Also, never mix iron (not a vitamin btw) with dairy or tea. And take it with some vitamin C
    • Finally, be careful and don't randomly start to mix and match certain vitamins. For instance, magnesium and calcium have a certain balance, where too much of one will have a negative effect on the other.
  • My post was about 4 weeks ago, called Bug; comments gone?

And yes, i too can read all comments on the web, as well as in all the other apps.

I really hope it gets fixed, because it's quite annoying to keep switching between apps, just because of this bug.

Seeing the number of upvotes, i'm guessing there are more people with the same issue.

    Be well, everyone :-)

  • I posted with the exact same problem weeks ago and it is still an issue. The only 'solution' for me is to use a different app for lemmy.world. Because then, i have no problems seeing all comments. It's something that happens all the time @PriorProject and it's definitely not some random timeout. It's unfortunate, because, of all the apps i'm trying out, Connect started crystalizing as my favorite app so far (though i'm waiting for Boost to come out and then it may change).

As i stated in my post: it usually says: Error: temporarily_disabled Just now pulling up a random post with 52 messages and none is showing up in Connect

  • Many things actually. I'm in the process of degoogling and ditching ms office. Ditched reddit. Ditched discord. I'm also ditching android apps and switching to FOSS versions if i can find them. And today i ditched Startpage. I just found this article about them: https://restoreprivacy.com/startpage-system1-privacy-one-group/

  • Spoke too soon. It's back. Either no comments or API error: temporarily disabled. The inbox works. I can see all replies. I'm not sure what you mean with the main feeds? But it does not matter whether it is in my subscribed comments or not. Nor does it matter if a community is local or not. For my other account at beehaw, i can see all comments, whether subscribed, local or All.

  • Hah! Reinstalling fixed it. I should have thought about that first, apologies! I'm happy, since this became my favorite app. Thank you so much :-) EDIT: no, it didn't fix it, only for a second.

  • Communities for people with rare disorders or illnesses. And plant communities for specific plant groups, so not plants in general. But most of all, i miss the fact that i could search for very specific content to see what creative ideas other people had on how to do certain things. Or people who shared many years of experience and experimenting.

  • Yes, the quantity can be absurd, though i usually use things like anonaddy. As for being save, i'm just not sure about this. The other day i read about wormgpt - like chatbot, but for malicious hackers - and i think that is pretty worrying. So far, you can check quite some signs that things are phishing attempts, because they are usually quite clunky, but things evolve. I used to read on r/scams to keep up with common scam tactics (also to warn my dad who hasn't a clue about these things), but i haven't found an alternative community on the fediverse so far.

  • I replaced youtube with newpipe and freetube or invidious. Though i think freetube still gives data to google, or so i read somewhere. So, i wonder how people replace the play store. Only use apps through f-droid?

  • I'm not that young myself anymore, and i definitely recognize my very strict upbringing you mentioned, but in my view respect needs to be earned. And not once, but over and over again because people change. Seeing most political leaders being very old white men makes me cringe. They often just don't understand the modern world. Just an example; they make decisions about cybersecurity while i'm convinced they don't know the first thing about it. They probably rely heavily on their advisors and just echo what they say would be best.

  • Well, i try to use their services as little as possible, but i still have a play store account. And an old gmail address. Degoogling, for me at least, is more of a process, rather than a one time act of abandoning it.
