  • Fair point, this is pretty vanilla and fixes the workflow for like, launching 2 programs on the same workspace (how dare you?)

  • Same, that video is pretty silly but many extensions are really awesome.

    • blur my shell: just make it look beatiful instead of a bit ugly
    • appindicators: needes to basic app support
    • more quicksettings are always good
    • window decorations: why doesnt GNOME have a maximize button, this makes no sense

With those extensions though, GNOME is pretty cool. I prefer KDE a lot, and even though I hope to be able to use workspaces smoothly one day (which is still not easy in KDE I think) I am pretty happy.

But if you think about it, not having workspaces is a total pain.

  • Yes that only works for browsers and would completely break image viewers, document editors etc

  • Damn I was not able to find it. Feddit must have some problem with discovery.

  • Share the code that can be edited.

Release .ttf, .wotf or .otf in form of releases for people to download them. Or dont, and let users do that themselves.

Make sure to include screenshots haha.

  • It also seems to have changed to "quick actions to the left" but unsure if I set that before and a bug before didnt apply that.

  • Vaults is a really cool and needed feature. Poorly they dont support any audited algorithm, all their supported ones are either cracked or not audited.

Cryptomator does the same but sucks in many ways (paid android app, electron, no CLI)

  • Vaults support, encFS, CryFS and gocryptFS.

  • Yes they are. They are mounted to a location and otherwise act just like Cryptomator containers.

Poorly they have no support for any audited algorithm, all supported ones are either already cracked or not tested.

  • If you use your phone without a case you are strange.

Or fooled by the industry. Who the fuck cares about fancy phones, give me plastic, I put a case on it anyways.

Liked that about the Pixel 4, all plastic, pretty strange but perfectly fine and light. Modern pixels use glass for some arbitrary reason (this silly energy wasting charge thing works through plastic too)

  • Btw the private browsing mode is also RAM-only which is a hard requirement for the Tor browser ("no disk policy")

  • Oh okay, didnt know Bazzite builds slower than the other images.

Instead of blocking users, education is the way better option. Flatpak Firefox does not have user namespace sandbox support, which is a pretty big deal.

  • No that is definetly a bug, as it spits out strange error messages.

I dont think Firefox running through Podman in rootless mode can create user namespaces? But not sure, will check that.

I have auto updates enabled and I reboot daily. This is not an issue especially on ublue where they are on by default.

  • Mull, but use the DivestOS repository. F-droid also builds it but too much delayed.
