I believe .ml was the first lemmy instance - the one made by the developers.

Wrong. They federated with them then had a big discussion on if they should defederate (you can probably still find it in meta). It’s why I left - I prefer to make my own defederation decisions (and I like Hexbear, and Piracy too).

And by all accounts, these are the white demographic having the most kids, even if white birth rates are lower, swinging the “white vote” by a great margin. Not to mention all of those arian eugenics tech bros…

Maybe each kid should only be worth 3/5ths a vote with all these child labor laws going out the window.

The thing that chafes me more than these things is the fact that this automatically makes the votes of young people who should, by all accounts, not yet have kids, worth less than older people or people who who have kids at young age (and are probably in a worse position to take care of said kids), further disenfranchising young people from voting.

At least not in the cities!

Did you watch the second video? That guy is fucked up by the experience Mr Beast put him through. Also, the child lottery allegations are right there for everyone to see (though most of the livestreams are taken off the official YouTube, some still exist out there). Plus, selling chocolates (that are actually not healthier) to kids while also doing the lottery thing is pretty shady.

A peer group, a purpose, and friend groups to share interests with.

Unfortunately many, if not most, people simply don't know how to go about it. They throw themselves into their work and whatever of their time is leftover gets dedicated to family. The interests and friends that they had prior to marriage and kids are left behind and those sacrifices leave them feeling alone and unfulfilled. They also don't understand WHY they feel that way when to the best of their understanding they're doing everything right!

I really feel this. I am especially struggling with making friends in a new place. I have hobbies, but they are solitary so they don’t help me with my loneliness. And it doesn’t help that work takes up more of my time than I wish it did.

Yes because I am cute. Actually. That’s my aesthetic.

Edit: I see a lot of people calling it infantilizing, but it’s my personality. And I’m older than other people on here have said they are.

Are we sure they aren’t just responding to the hashtag from Twitter? I don’t plan to check but just a thought…
