  • There’s a lot that could be better about my home country, such as the weather, but I am thankful for mandatory vaccinations. I know many of my stupid relatives who wouldn’t have gotten their vaccine if it wasn’t mandated.

Some things shouldn’t be left to the “wisdom of the masses”.

  • Everyone that’s ever lived there took it by killing the people that lived there before them.

False. But to entertain your claim, who did the Palestinians expel?

The ottomans took it from the Mamluk Sultanate, who took it from the Ayyubid Dynasty, who took it from the Kingdom of Jerusalem, who took it from the Arabs in the first crusade, who took it from the Byzantine empire in the Muslim conquest, who took it from the Roman Empire

These transfers of power weren’t accompanied by mass expulsions and settlement of new peoples except during the Crusades and modern Zionism

  • Did going against the US end terribly for Afghanistan? The US is welcome to try spending 4 trillion dollars and 20 years fighting Iran but if it expects a different outcome than Vietnam or Afghanistan or Iraq then you aren’t the only one who is misled.

As someone from the region (Saudi Arabia) I want the US to be baited into another decades-long losing war. I am just surprised that the US public wants the same given how recent losing in Afghanistan and Iraq is.

Of course I see Iran’s reclamation of its tanker as justified and US sanctions as unjustified but that’s beyond the point.

  • There was a reason the world was horrified by Saudia's actions but wasn't phased when Israel kills journalists, and it has been going on for years.

    From 2022:

The killing of Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank has cast a spotlight on the high rate of Israeli attacks against media workers, particularly Palestinians, and the relative impunity under which they operate, according to local journalists, advocates and rights groups.

Abu Akleh, 51, was fatally shot in the head on Wednesday while covering Israeli raids in the city of Jenin.

    From 2018:

On the second Friday of the Gaza protests yesterday, Israeli snipers shot nearly 500 Palestinians at the Gaza border, killing nine (per AP), and bringing the death total in two Fridays to 31. The international headlines feature the shootings of six Palestinian journalists, including one who was killed, 30-year-old Yasser Murtaja, even though he wore a flak jacket clearly marked PRESS.

As for why do western media don't care much when Israel kills journalists but went into a rage frenzy when Jamal Khashogji was killed, is left as an exercise for the reader.
