  • I doubt money is the most important need for a marginalized and oppressed people. Sounds like an alibi offer so people can't say Bibi hasn't tried something else than bombs. Especially that number seems laughably low as you yourself already pointed out. If this could work, they should be able to afford a lot more.

  • Zionists argue all the way back to several hundreds years B.C. Not that you can always draw an exactly straight line here, but the point should be that no reaction is inevitable, but that we have organized governments here making these decisions every day.

  • There's plenty of immigration or our economy would get crushed by our ageing population.

And there may still be some villages where they still vote on this, but most places have it regulated. The rules are inconvenient however so our immigration number is high (20-25%) even if they've lived here for years.

  • In the cities it can even reach 40%. They are mostly Germans and from other European countries. The numbers are high because citizenship is difficult to get. SVP however is strong in the countryside, not in cities. Most concerns are about refugees from the middle east and Africa.

SVP are clearly racist, anti-Muslim based on past referendums and rhetoric. The european court for human rights is denounced by them as "foreign judges" who are blocking the will of the Swiss people. But no, they don't admit to being racist.

  • This time SVP didn't even hide or deny their connections to known neo nazi groups. They openly posted so on IG. One parliament member even got one of these groups organize her campaign.

But to provide context: Many countries in Europe are shifting to the right at the moment. Not a huge surprise unfortunately.

  • But acting like Israel's carpet bombing of Gaza is like a force of nature is weird as well, no? The way you say it, it sounds like Hamas took the hostages into the path of a Hurricane. Was it so clear to everyone that Israel wouldn't give a shit about the hostages and would be bombing Gaza indiscriminately?

  • Man, I wish you would've said "all" not "almost all". It's clearly a violation of the first amendment and not even a good one. Hate speech laws against antisemitism I'd be fine with, but not this.

  • In most US states boycotts of Israel are illegal. And forget sanctions or the biggest economy will retaliate. There's a reason Israeli officials are not afraid looking like nasty war criminals on TV: they have no reason to be.
