That assumes they're actually making a mistake, instead of habitually driving too damn fast because they think they're more in control than physics is.
I think it's more likely to lead to people slowing down and not doing stuff like weaving in and out of traffic so they can keep going fast.
Whenever I feel like traffic is moving too slowly for me, I think about how long it would take me to walk instead. And then I chill out and enjoy my private climate controlled capsule and maybe turn up my music.
Agreed. Some of us are careful about how much caffeine we ingest because we want it to work when we use it, and/or because we get real twitchy when overcaffeinated.
I currently have Raglan Roast Brown Lightning beans and I grind them in small batches for my pour over coffee when I work from home and it's so tasty (especially with just a splash of full cream added).
Need to replace the "news" with info from sources that impact you. Lemmy has no idea what stupidity or genius your local council or the various ministries might be getting up to.
I agree flexible is better than full wfh. On top of everything else you mentioned, going to work gets you outside, at least briefly, and gives you a chance to interact with people you don't already know.
I used to be a lot more into philosophy but these days I'm basically running on the assumption that the only thing that cares about what we do is us. Also, if there's meaning or purpose in the universe we're probably not smart enough to find it.
I also think that we're nowhere near as clever as we like to think we are. Or as Douglas Adams put it:
"...on the planet Earth, man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much—the wheel, New York, wars and so on—whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man—for precisely the same reasons."
I also feel off. Might be a bug, might be eating basically just junk food yesterday. I'm feeling like maybe I need to eat toast for dinner or something.
Blood work is mostly for things you can't catch from people (or, at least not without getting very friendly).
