Where the hell are you shopping that you have to make small talk? I say "hi" when I walk up. Wait while they scan. They say "that'll be $10". I tap my card, say "thanks" and leave.

I don't think Trump has ever seriously asked this question about anything. And definitely not when it comes to improving other people's lives.

That's his way of doing things. He did the same with USMCA (an agreement he himself signed in 2018) when he broke the agreement and put tariffs on Canada and Mexico.

He is completely untrustworthy. He will break any agreement and demand a better deal whenever he thinks he has the upper hand. No one should trust him to hold any deal or treaty.
