Also I think the post is talking about hiding the data to begin with. There are already some tracking tools out there that look at the existing data. If the data isn't accessible to you, then it's not accessible to the AI either. Nothing for anyone to look at

Although I'm not familiar with flight details to know what exactly is being hidden, or if there are workarounds

  • I've pinned your post in the community, consider it the event discussion post :)

  • I had to check that one earlier as well, thanks for looking in to it :))

  • The comment asking what a foot is, was building off the joke in the post image which was asking what a mile is, which itself is a reference to an American line https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/what-the-fuck-is-a-kilometer

What The Fuck Is A Kilometer, also known as WTF Is A Kilometer, refers to an American catchphrase that is satirically patriotic by being aggressively ignorant of the metric system. This is because the United States doesn't use the metric system (kilometers) and instead uses the imperial system (miles). The phrase's first usage was in a moldy meme featuring George Washington with a bald eagle and a giant firearm.

Only it started as being satire, but now it's also used by some people trying to be patriotic

  • Oh ok that is odd, thank you for bringing that up

I'll test that some more before we run another survey on here

I'd recommend looking through these two guides / infographics as they are a good introduction

    What is the fediverse

How does Lemmy work, in detail

If you consider the network of email providers, then "gmail" could be considered one "instance" of the network. You can use it as a self-contained service, but the strength comes from being a part of the wider network.

So you can use lemmy.ca as if it was an isolated Canadian version of reddit, but the strength comes from being able to access communities from all over

  • Yes that was intentional, but I should have been more clear about what each link was. I added this blurb now:

The voting form website has instructions in both English and French. You only need to fill in the form once, and it will include songs from all categories. For convenience, you can find direct links below:

We can also update the confirmation screen for future surveys. Right now it's set to 'soft mandatory', so it will stop you the first time but you can forcibly skip past it at that point. Surveys don't usually do that, so it might be unnecessarily confusing to use that feature.

  • If someone wants to put together some playlists, I didn't have a chance to do that yet. All but one of the songs are on YouTube, so that might be a good place to start.

This is also our first time using LimeSurvey. Hopefully it goes well, and if not then we can learn from it before using it for our Census later

  • This is true, and we wouldn't want to keep a bad actor around just because the election is over. I'll change the wording to add 'minimum'

We're also working on updated guidelines, so there will be a bigger call for feedback like this once we have that together. Those guidelines will apply site wide and across the different platforms (pixelfed.ca for example). How we deal with misinformation is an important area that we want to get right
