  • Did we really need studies using math and statistics to understand that

    a) if you flood everything with shit, some gets through

    b) it's not an accident but an applied system to increase engagement (=clicks=money)

    c) tired people are less attentive

  • Actually yes. I want the students watched because that's part of teaching. Ignoring them to the point it's extra work to even look at them once a minute while while reproducing some book verbally or in writing is not.

  • has some reason why little Timmy just absolutely must have his TikTok machine on him at all times, just in case his mom needs to text him and can't be bothered to call the school office

And that's a problem why exactly? Why is every comment here pretending that there is either being glued to the screen of your phone or having it locked away, no inbetween?

Schools can somehow enforce completely rediculous clothign regulations but "the phone stays in your bag unless it's an emergency" is somehow impossible because it's some kind of law of nature that you must stare at the screen 24/7.

  • Nope.

Or to use you analogy: It's like discussing bans of kerosin to fix the fire instead of acknowledging that they are pouring gasoline on it.

There are good reasons to discuss limiting AI. But this discussion is somewhere between stupidity and diversion. It will not change the fact that a lot of todays (especially social) media is running on narratives, bullshit and desinformation. That's not new and AI will barely be able to make it even worse.

This none-topic is however very useful in ignoring the underlying issue (lack of media competence and education) and diverting from the actual risks of AI (surveilance).

  • This is just another attempt to divert from the actual issue.

No, it's not AI. It's desinformation that is the problem. People who believed and parroted badly spelled bullshit lies from some troll farm will keep doing so. They will not suddenly fall for AI generated propaganda because AI evolved to be that indistinguishable. They already fell for everything long before.

Sure... let's discuss the risks of AI and how we need to regulate it instead of finally acknowledging that the problem is a lack of education and media competence in general.

  • Don't confuse people whose whole narrative is build on some conspiracy of media suppression with facts.

I guess skipping the term "Lügenpresse" to avoid the obvious link was deemed enough progress to keep that same 100 years old tactic alive...

  • No, actually they would have loved to make it easy. Yet the EU is opposed to it.

So now they are doing it in baby steps to get solid data on every step of the way to show the EU rules are bullshit.

First step: decriminalisation for limited amounts, home growing and private clubs.

Next step: licensed distribution in selective model regions, documented as per agreements with the EU commission.

After that: negotiations with similiarly minded EU countries

Full legalisation can basically only happen with an EU frame work and that will be a marathon...

  • because the value of everything he owns is criminally overinflated

You say that now, but just wait until the cult starts collecting money to pay those overinflated prices for their lord and savior...

  • That's because the drivers are bullshit but not the problem in general. They work well for some very specific cards, not at all for other and in general it's just random hit or miss.

And then, to make it more fun, not all wayland compositors are born equal either.

  • I pick the reality of civilian transport ships actually attacked over Houthi propaganda.

  • No, I'm referring to reality, not your alternate mirror-universe version.

The one where militants attacking civilians don't become innocent civilians because you like their terror.

  • which was subsequently deleted

    ...by him.

Only to repeat it again on tv. While crying that he isn't allowed to say what he was just allowed to say.

  • Actually yes.

Because absolute Freedom of Speech is absolutely stupid.

No country should allow you cry fire at a crowded event without consequences because of free speech.

No country should allow you to lie in court without consequences because of free speech.

No country should allow you to make death threats without consequences because of free speech.

No country should allow you to tell lies in verbal or written contract because of free speech

Because there are certain rules our society is build upon.

Freedom of Speech is a right granted to you by the democratic society and framework of laws. Those intentionally leaving the implicit agreements of democratic society or established law behind (and literal nazis qualify) should lose protection of the same.

  • "We will randomly attack and kill civilians until you do what we demand" went by another name for quite some time...

But hey... we all know that things like terrorism, war crimes or genocide are suddenly okay once you agree with the cause. So keep being a proud cheerleader for terrorism.

  • Agreeing on 2% NATO spending from 2024 onward 10 years ago, agreeing on multi-billion support packages from the EU and EU countries individually for months, finalising yearly budgets end of 2023... that's obviously all meaningsless.

EU countries actually spend money on Ukraine because some brain-damaged orange monkey drooled. Yeah, that makes sense. All hail that idiot.

Btw: To demonstrate my importance I demand that the sun rises next morning. Don't forget to praise my power, too, when it bows to my will tomorrow!

  • Would be really cool if people finally understood the basic priciples of what they call AI, to realize this is not a criticism of AI but of society's output sourced for training.

  • Did nobody there propose Madagascar as the destination for "voluntary migration" of Gaza inhabitants yet?

  • Now that I had to look up quotes anyway...

He was arguing (on that dead-bird-shitshow) that Jews are using their cultural, financial and media influence to weaponize the West's guilt around the persecution of Jews against innocent Arabs.

Then he deleted the tweet, to repeat the same in several interviews while at the same time claiming that he's not allowed to say what he just said live on tv.
