  • Supergiant is the only studio to consistently deliver. Even their hands-down least interesting game, Pyre, isn't a bad game, it's just not for everyone. Everything else they have released has been golden.

I can't support prepurchase. Not even for supergiant. The industry has killed that for me. But yeah, I'll probably be there day 1, too.

  • This. Everything ends, no matter how tightly you hold on to it. Enjoy the time you have now, the future is promised to no one. Happiness, or at least contentedness, comes when you live completely in the moment, not desiring for a certain future or yearning for a different past.

  • Happiness is an internal thing. Those are all external things. You can be happy despite there being things around you that are shit. You can be happy, and still work to improve your situation and others'. You can be happy, and uncomfortable. None of these are either-or.

  • The article addresses this. They explicitly state that this decision will disproportionately effect poorer people whose only preventative care may be drinking water. In order for this to be as effective as having fluoride in the water supply, you'd have to find some way to get said toothpaste to these poorer people AND ensure compliance. So, definitely not as easy as just removing the fluoride and letting toothpaste handle it.

  • It'd be great if we could come back to reasonable naming conventions. Why is "Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Part 2" so unappealing? What even IS an intergrade? I should not have to research or be a.... Biologist, apparently, to know what order I need to play your bloody game in.

Edit: fuckin hell, intergrade isn't even the 2nd game. I give up.

  • Had a landlord POUNDING on all 3 of our doors (one at a time, not at once) one time when I was taking care of my sick mother. He didn't try the key, else he'd have probably gotten a size 14 boot up his asshole. Some of the shit landlords think they can get away with...

  • You can like the product, or at least the product of the past, while also acknowledging that the business practices they engage in today are shit, consumer-unfriendly, and that the actual content hasn't kept up with the rate they've decided to 'monetize' their site. There is no dichotomy, both can be true. So yeah, how's that boot?

  • Elsewhere, there was a giant hurricane. Demons now roam the world, more than used to at least, but they mostly appear as more unfavorable people. If you run into a big dude with a chunk of iron much too large to be a sword, massive, thick, heavy and far too rough, more a chunk of iron really, he's not a bad dude, just don't do anything to his girl.

  • You never know what security holes exist until they're exploited. Nothing you can really do about that. Security and convenience have always, and will always, be a trade off and a matter of personal acceptability. If you host anything, it will be potentially vulnerable, way less so if you take proper precautions. If you're not just overtly insecure, you'll probably be fine, but there's no way to say for sure.
