  • Yeah they all seem green screened and a couple of the participants look like they're reading off a cue card they themselves had no hand in writing and may have been given 2 minutes before being filmed.

  • He's talking about the global definition of that term. Conservatives, globally, are on the side of preserving the existing structure (which, yes, should that structure be harmful to other individuals, cultures, social ideals, would still be considered conservatism).

  • I think it's more about the fact that Texas national guard, under the orders of the state governor, are blocking border patrols from being in the area to assist or respond to emergencies or do their duty. Not to say they weren't potentially going to abuse the migrants too, but letting Texas have free reign to bus who they want where they want with impunity would be a misstep in federal/state rights.

  • Oh Jesus christ they didn't even put the worst parts anywhere near the title. They didn't just have a pizza party, they celebrated the destruction of a man's property on land they weren't allowed to police on, LEFT THE BOXES, and then engaged in a little bit of freelance arsonry (or aided arsonry). Fuck me

  • Commending your humanity, friend. It's hard to see the problems that people like the homeless can cause in our day to day and not feel reproachful or angry. Even if I know the reason, and can empathize with the situation, it doesn't make the interactions any less jarring or frustrating when they're clearly in need or more assistance than they're getting and that lack is harming them AND the community they need to rely on for survival.

  • What was the 'scariest' thing to do at the time? Like, before slipping into that sweet sweet AM5 chip with easy placement and locking, putting in the CPU and thermal pasting scared me and all my friends.

  • Rag on him for both.

"Acceptable of the time" isn't a valid excuse against bigotry. There's a differenc between thinking something is criminal but having no moral objection to it, you know, like drugs and free love and everything else their music talks about, and thinking something is criminal and that there is a moral attachment to that act.

There were people in the 60s/70s/80s that wouldn't write a workers rights song and say "keep it away from fags and girly men though", because they're not self-dillusioned assholes, John Lennon just didn't happen to be one.

  • Yeah there are definitely levels. Louis C.K. makes me feel weird, I think he's funny and I think what he did was wrong but not on the level of R. Kelly or actual sexual criminals. Then the R Kelly stuff happens and it makes you re-evaluate the entire Leaderboard of 'fucked up celebrity shit'.

  • I heard the argument the other day telling me to separate art from the artist.

My singular response was "yeah, and I like Trapped In The Closet too, but R Kelly pissed on a 13 year old girl he later married. I can't listen to any of his music and not have that in the back of my mind. If you can stomach the song while thinking about that, the song must be pretty good or the travesty not that bad that you can push it out"

Loved Eric Clapton, read what he said about Hendrix and his own family and then the vaccine stuff in recent years resurfaced it. No more Clapton

  • Am US, am out of th3 loop

Who's panhandling and arresting over comments in the UK? Is it the thing with their king, because I thought they just moved those people and detained them temporarily (wrongly, fuck ALL monarchy)
