  • I just walked my dog past a big red pickup truck with stickers that had a picture of Biden with "I just shit my pants" and "BLM: Biden Loves Minors" (so classy) and it really struck me how extremely Biden focused the Republican memes have been.

Like we used to have "Pelosi is secretly running things" or like even Mitt Romney was running against Obama but his attacks were about Democrats as a whole, they were tax and spend liberals building the nanny state.

The flip side to Trump's immature style is that it IS extremely specific, and like you can't just go "actually it's Meatball Nikki Haley." Obviously you can invent different immature nicknames and memes but it is hard to telegraph them with the convention out of the way.

  • After the Schumer leak, this had to happen.

It has to be Kamala and anyone thinking otherwise is dumb.

And I don't know if Kamala can win. I don't know if she could do better than Joe would do. But I know she'll do better than what would happen if Joe had a second debate like the first debate.

If nothing else, this keeps it close.

  • He very specifically did not say publicly that he would be a 1 term president. Talking through the idea with aides and someone leaking it does not equal a campaign promise.

This is a new decision, obviously. He is going to be a 1 term president. But he never promised it.

  • If the Trump campaign paid for it as an ad, I'm not upset by it assuming anyone else could have paid to promote an alternative political candidate.

If it's an in-kind donation to the campaign, that's troublesome.

  • Part of being the police is advertising that there are police here, as a deterrent. This works well for that.

But another part is having fast, reliable vehicles able to out maneuver other cars on the road, to stop criminals after the fact. Not so good at that part.

  • Sounds like you didn't understand it. I'm not saying prices aren't higher than they were years ago... prices always go up long term, the target is 2% per year. That's not the question. The question is whether inflation has been tamed, meaning will prices rise wildly in the future or are we back to normal inflation rates. So going forward, will inflation be 2% like normal? Or are you claiming it will be higher?

Right now you're not even answering the question you're just saying it was higher in the past, which isn't relevant to whether it is tamed now.

  • It was part of his memoir written at the age of 22. He was trying to sound cool and clever and add color to his grandmother's character because she asked a 6 year old if he wanted to suck dicks. I wouldn't think too hard about it.

  • We did not vote Gore or Hillary into office. They got more popular votes and lost in electoral votes, and only electoral votes count for president. They lost fair and square, in the system we have.

No the difference between republics and monarchies is not "talking about assassinating rivals." You can say anything, that is anyone's right. In the context from above, this difference is why political assassination is not acceptable in a republic. It would be insane to say that political assassination is OK if the person had ever talked about assassinating rivals. The penalty for distasteful speech is not death.

  • Trump was asking Pence to return legally cast electoral votes to the states for reconsideration on false pretenses. Yes obviously bad and we don't want a president who would do such a thing. But not assassination worthy.

  • While they await sentencing? If a judge allows it, obviously yes. People have lives and jobs, if they might not even get prison time it would be cruel to force them into all the downsides of prison time (lose your job, child care difficulties) and then let them go.

Trump would be more impacted by his inability to campaign, but we only have one justice system and I don't want to betray my beliefs on how the justice system works just because I don't like this guy's politics.

  • "Convicted criminal" who is "above the law?"

Seems like he was convicted, thus not above the law.

You keep him from being president by getting enough people to vote against him, or you accept the will of the people.

The 2nd Amendment was originally to make sure militias weren't disarmed, in a time when militias were more relevant. Has nothing to do with political assassination.
