Traveling across the US is like switching to an alternate dimension where everything is pretty much the same, but a few things are off. Like, Congress is the same, but suddenly there are dunkin' donuts everywhere and the land is weirdly flat
Anything described as "just common sense." No, it's knowledge/awareness that you picked up from your particular environment. Not everyone has had the same exposure as you.
No, I just mean I have an underactive thyroid, and I'm stuck taking medication for it the rest of my life. As opposed to some of the other meds I take that I could conceivably stop under the right circumstances.
Check out A Half-Built Garden by Ruthanna Emrys. A bunch of US citizens get so fed-up with the looming collapse of the planet, they form a bunch of socialist collectives who rely on the internet to function. It's like a cross between reddit and Next Door. Problems are discussed, solutions proposed and voted on, information readily shared. These communities just focus on taking the best care they can of their own people and their corner of the world. Also there are aliens.
Idk. We're not close, we've lived at least 8 hours apart most of my life. He has 7 kids and some of them live close and check on him regularly. They know about the smell but I'm not sure whether they've talked to him. He's 95, in good health, and lives alone in a retirement community.
Is there way to block communities/posts based on language?
