  • He's already been defeated soundly at the voting booth. That's why there was an insurrection.

We really should be moving to consequences part of the constitution instead giving Trump yet another chance to steal power.

  • You can use a suis vide and make it in 2 hours instead.

The whole volume/coffee mass trade-off is a bit misleading. Espresso has a much higher ratio, and cold brew is by taste and strength somewhere between filter coffee and espresso. Mixing cold brew half and half with sparkling water is a nice way to bulk it out if you want a greater volume of coffee.

  • Something I've just realised going into the office is how much more unproductive I make everyone else.

If I'm not working at home, everyone else is free to keep working. But if I'm not working in the office I'm going to drag everyone in my team down to my level.

  • Probably bad.

It makes the desolation of the UK less likely, which as a non-scott I like, because it's good having the Scottish people about.

But, honestly, Scottish independence didn't look that likely anyway, and it was good having two large centre left parties about (SNP and Labour) because it kept things honest.

What it probably means is a large swing to Labour in the next election, because most Scotts would rather shoot themselves in the head than vote Tory.

  • That sounds like a bug.

Software can theoretically recover location by searching.

Like my TV hasn't moved in the last 3 years, if any app searching for Bluetooth sees it they can know where I am.

  • Location services have to be turned on in Android whenever you're searching for Bluetooth devices.

This isn't because they're necessarily using your location but because scanning Bluetooth/wifi devices could be used to localise you.

As far as I can tell, Garmin does not use location on the phone. Weather updates come through the phone's internet connection but only work based on the watch location.

  • This answer shows how shit Chatgpt can be, and how it's not really self aware.

Very few of these actually apply to chatgpt. And the ones that do, like a lack of awareness of current events don't apply to those agents connected to the internet.

It's just parroting old opinions that used to be true

  • everyone grown up can decide what messenger app to install,

That's literally what the lawsuit is about. No one is making the deliberate choice to buy or install teams. It comes forcefully bundled with office and Microsoft are using this to push out the competition.

At the start of the pandemic everyone was using zoom. Now most universities and medium businesses have switched to teams. Everyone hates it, but no one wants to pay for two video chat clients.

  • Get rekt Ubunoobs

  • Honestly, I think installing a Linux distro from floppies is what made me appreciate Ubuntu so much.

I know that other distros also work out the box now, but I'm just really happy installing one and never needing to try anything else.

  • We've imported the culture wars from the US.

There's a range of anti trans lobbyists in the UK that are US funded, and our government is hoping that if you scare people about migrants and trans people for long enough, we'll forget that it's actually the Tory party that is destroying the country and vote them back in.
