Is the image you're trying to copy/paste a webp instead of a jpeg or png? I just tested, and it quietly fails to paste a webp for me, but jpeg and png work just fine.

It's wonky on desktop, however. The lines double up much like it does on Reddit.

I think they're referring to the storage service at sync.com, not Firefox Sync.

It's funny: The linked article up top briefly brings up that some vets question it, but then immediately turns around and acts like it's a foregone conclusion.

Bot. There's an option in account settings to tag yourself as one.

If you hover over it it'll pop up the words "Bot Account". Several of the Lemmy UI icons have hover text like that. Handy for when you're scratching your head over what one of them does.

It hasn't been making headlines this time (they're only talking about Threads and the jet tracker guy), but it's back to needing a login.

I had the same question, and it led to an interesting Google search. Turns out it's been going on a few years now, and even has a wiki entry. A combination of farm runoff and vehicle pollution is screwing up the soil, water, and air. Feels so weird I hadn't even heard of this.

Yes, for some niche communities that don't see the same level of activity on the fediverse yet. (Also post-episode discussions on a couple TV shows, for the same reason.) I don't find myself participating or even voting anymore, and my general-purpose browsing to see what's new has all gone to Lemmy.

I just can't bring myself to delete the account. I care too much about internet preservation to do it; I know I'm not the only one who's gone looking for an answer on an older forum and run into deleted comments that would've answered my question.
