  • I've dropped it many times and it never failed to make everyone lose their shit.

  • Ok but the cool thing about the white saltire on blue background is you get your flag in the sky whenever two planes leave a trail at the right angle.

  • I mean that's definitely true and all, but wouldn't they also get a continuous fresh supply of single people (coming of age, breakups). Don't get me wrong I totally get they want that and to keep the users hooked as well, because they're greedy piggys, but still I don't know if the business model is doomed if they don't.

  • The unfortunate truth is while it's skilled, it's also a high demand industry which people want to work in. That means there's an endless supply of bright eyed youngsters willing to do it for pennies while living at their parents (low expenses), and thus plenty of companies willing to abuse them. Another comment points out they'll be looking for another in 3 months times and that's probably accurate. At some point these companies realise "damn, maybe having to train up a newbie 3 times a year and having consistently shitty output because of it isn't that great after all, maybe we should hire someone worth their salt even if they cost us more" and that's where proper positions become available, but you have to find them.

  • At the end of the day, Trump won the election, they see that his shit-peddling style brought results, and they're hoping the same thing will happen here. I'd like to think the vast majority of Europeans are too smart to fall for this kinda shit but unfortunately I keep being proven more and more wrong...

  • Ah yes, sure, but you see with the magic of gerrymandering, they could bring them in but make sure all their votes collectively count about as much as 3 rednecks in Alabama, so don't you worry about this pesky little detail.

  • I was in the business for a while and they can be more than toys but that's mostly up to you and what you want to do with it/need it for. Once I stopped working in the industry I kept mine for a while but eventually sold it since it didn't really solve any problems for me and took a lot of space just to make cool Christmas presents... I have a friend with 3D printers and other stuff that I go to when I need something for my business.

  • Just don't get a glowforge....

  • Definitely not perfect but just the fact he's giving all this effort while on the way out shows you his character, so yeah even if I don't agree with him on many things I at least respect him as a politician (as much as I can respect any politician especially when they don't have my views at all).

I feel similar about Mark Rutte, ex prime minister of the Netherlands and now secretary general of NATO, the guy is a cold ass conservative but god damn it's incomparable with the likes of trump.

  • Woah 200g of meat a day is well sufficient... That is basically my max amount since I pretty much only have meat at dinner and that's more than a chicken breast which is the most amount of meat I'd consume at one time. I do consume quite a bit of dairy though (used to be cheese, but now for dieting reasons it's quark yogurts, milk, etc) and a few eggs, need that protein.

But the rest is all legumes, veggies, nuts, cereals, good carbs, etc. I'd struggle to eat more meat than that even when I didn't give a shit about my diet I think, but now that I do I also cut out all the non lean stuff so that does play a role.

  • Not sure why you're down voted, because it's not FOSS? But SketchUp is what I used when I designed my studio and it worked fine (and free). Learning the CAD options listed above is gonna be way harder. Otherwise, there's always blender but same thing with the learning curve.

  • Fier de mes cousins québécois.

  • Recently heard about ads that make you take a quiz at the end to make sure you were paying attention, we're not far now...

  • For clarity, that UK price also includes tax.

  • Here we have a blanket 3km/h tolerance so they measure you, take 3km/h off and then use that to see which bracket of speeding you fall into (10, 20, etc).

  • Literally just got a semi-transparent Xbox controller. My kid loves looking at the rumble motor moving inside.
