That's honestly why I was looking at it, the prices kinda blew my mind over there, that I could afford nearly 3 apartments in Edmonton for the price of one in Oregon, and the apartments were generally much newer and fancier for that price range.

Oh wow, I had no idea, I was assuming it was mostly in Quebec for some reason and saw the low housing prices in Edmonton. Thanks a ton for the heads up!

I'm an Oregonian currently working on migrating to Alberta, I'd love to hear your thoughts on what pro's and con's I'd be running into. Seeing housing prices in Edmonton while my in-laws' mobile home is selling for over half a million really has me thinking...

God, I was starting to think it was a fever dream, that was my first instance, then suddenly it was gone. I still check every now and then if it's back up. After a while, I assumed it wasn't coming back and made my new home, but it still holds a special place for me.

While not entirely mindless, I've been loving Void Bastards to wind down at the end of the day

Different meaning for different roles, but in this case, I'm guessing they mean Relational Database Service. What I'm not sure of is the limitation, if it's that it's a relational database or that RDS would indicate that it's hosted on a PaaS (Platform as a Service) and thusly cannot run the script because you dont have OS access. My money's on the latter.

I'm dealing with that right now with my current company. They've had me working in a role 4 positions above the one my title would indicate for the last year. Being healthcare, they blamed not being able to change my job title because they can't afford increasing my pay during "these unprecedented times." Now, a year later, they're "working on updating my job title," but it's going to be a lateral title change with no change in payscale.
