The use of all the buzzwords actually works to show the advertisers in question that they understand what they're doing and, in this case somewhat literally, that they "speak their language."

You're assuming they actually believe what they are saying and are arguing in good faith. That hasn't been in the Republican playbook since at least Nixon.

Some people like the public spectacle. If your SO wants a public spectacle then you shouldn't let some weird introvert on the internet tell you what to do because it makes him a little uncomfortable.

Disabilities without visible symptoms of all types are routinely ignored by most people. People with chronic pain, pulmonary issues, even mental illness don't really get the same sympathy and understanding as someone in a wheelchair. I think it's because if it's not right in your face reminding you, it's easy to forget what someone else is feeling.

I read stuff like this and initially think "no, people have a vague sense of who these politicians are" and then I remember 2008 when a girl told me John McCain was the protagonist from Die Hard and refused to believe otherwise.

It seems (seemed) like a pretty good vr headset....just it's owned by one of the worst companies and I have no interest paying them hundreds for that level of access to my personal information.

I think it's a combination of lack of vocabulary, projecting a story online to their own similar thing and responding to that, and just people using a lot of hyperbole which can sometimes be misunderstood in text.

I would say more actively harmful (since there's often some attempt at manipulation behind the words) than worthless.

It kinda makes sense. All the people who know better already use an ad blocker so they don't know what it's really like and all the people who don't know to use an ad blocker don't know any better and that's just what the internet looks like.
