  • Anything less than life in prison, which he won’t get, is not enough.

This is a civil defamation case. Prison isn't an option in any civil case, only damages are.

You're thinking of the GA RICO criminal case, where prison is not only "on the table," it's all but guaranteed with a conviction.

  • Musk has a great deal of control over:

    • Satellite internet
    • Low Earth orbit launches
    • Electric vehicle charging infrastructure
    • Social media

His choices impact world events whether you "hear about this clown" or not. Ignoring him doesn't change that.

  • That decision is likely to be appealed by the state, which argued that Cox does not meet the criteria for a medical exception.

Great, hold it up in the appeals courts to get the stupid outcome you want regardless of whether you win the appeal, the State. This is the definition of abusing the judicial system.

  • Yes, that is what the article says. I don't think that it opens any window any further than its already been opened by the RICO charges themselves, again, because a GA RICO conviction essentially requires a prison sentence. We knew what the intended endgame was the moment the charges were filed. These emails reveal nothing more.

  • The word "predict" in that headline is doing a ton of heavy lifting.

And of course they want prison sentences, hence the RICO charges. Prison is almost a foregone conclusion on a guilty verdict for a GA RICO case.

  • She's also laying the groundwork for splitting the party, with her suggesting she could make a third party run for 2024. I was thinking last night that if she was to do that, and get Chris Christie to be the VP pick, that could actually add a lot of stability to the political landscape. Would they win? Probably not, but it would take a lot of wind out of the sails of the fascists, and they wouldn't win, either. But it would give today's Republican voters who still hold dear the core principles of democracy a place to not feel politically homeless.

If the goal is preventing an openly fascist American government, Liz Cheney must run.
